Cross posting from the NFCN thread, but I can only assume Harbaugh is doing this because he truly thinks he’ll be back in the NFL next year, or because he’s utterly oblivious.

Yeah, that's got plenty of "yeah totally do this because it won't be my problem to deal with! Away I go!" on it, but then again he's a goober.

it's like all the former legislators that decry the corruption and toxicity of congress but only after they've lost re-election or retire and can say whatever without pissing off their coworkers.

...but then again he is a goober and has said similar stuff before. I'm biased but I can see him being oblivious and/or indifferent to how this would piss off the NCAA more and put a spotlight on the program to the point where they might discover more ill-gotten burgers!

Harbaugh is much more interested in solidifying his legacy as a coach/mentor and gives zero shits about whether the NCAA will do anything. He has been big on building support for a player's union for a long time, even before this season and the NCAA infractions, so why would he pump the brakes now? If anything, this puts the NCAA in a precarious situation that if they do come down hard on him, it's easy spin to say that they did so in attempt to preempt unionization.

Franklin has never been as blunt as Harbaugh, but has been in favor of player compensation. He's one of the more progressive coaches on the issue. This probably doesn't help you having to agree with both the Michigan and Penn State coaches.

My #1 candidate for that position was Saban, but he's annoyed at basically everything changing and loving up his recruiting strategies. Harbaugh might just be in the unique position of having viewpoints from everywhere - college player, pro player, poo poo-tier college coach, academic-high college coach, NFL coach, megapower college coach.

So far this offseason, the Cocks have suffered some unfortunate transfer portal losses but also got some big transfer portal wins; plan to roll out a intriguing but raw underclassman quarterback next year; and once again have a top-10 hardest schedule in 2024. Feels like it's gonna be another year of improved play on the field that doesn't translate to the record, which likely results in missing a bowl again despite promising flashes here and there. This program is very much stuck in neutral right now, and like other fans in this thread, I am extremely thankful I'm not living or dying by what my alma mater is doing.

Florida hired Ron Roberts from Auburn as Co-DC/LB and some other made up executive title.

Seems like Napier is pretty serious about fixing the defense. Initially I was thinking a lot about 4th and 31 but also it’s prob mostly Bama Bullshit and Auburn had a decent improvement. He seems to be pretty well-respected and runs the same defense as Austin Armstrong.

Still no ST coach or OC though.
