you know, the little voice inside your head? Not like in a “seek treatment” sort of way (and I think that’s more complicated than this? Not a doctor!).

You can have one or multiple, but right now it’s a very exasperated Jonathan Banks while I’m working.

Who is the voice cheering you up when you’re down? Who is the voice motivating you to do the dishes? What voice should we be reading your posts in?

I have an internal monologue but I'm not sure it has a distinct "voice" at all

I mean I guess sometimes I talk to myself so then it has my voice?

Changes with my mood, tbh. Usually it's similar to my speaking voice, but right now it's Brendaniel, because I'm thinking about it and he has a cool voice for such an unhinged dude.

Way more often than I'd like, it's the voice of whoever sings the earworm I'm in the process of trying to exorcise out of my mind.

Some people don't have an "audible" internal voice. That sounds nice. Calm and peaceful.

I think linguistically, but the internal monologue doesn't have a "voice" in the way that spoken dialogue does unless I focus on it. So I can visualize it as, like, the BG3 narrator or my high school history teacher and it then takes on those characteristics, but otherwise it's sort of a "black and white" internal verbalization that happens at speech pace but doesn't have voice character.

A 50s something, average looking white dude was in front of me at Dunkins this morning and was entirely unremarkable until he opened his mouth to order. He had a very high, nasally voice that made all the workers behind the counter and me to stop what we were doing and do a double take.

That’s the voice.

My internal monologue doesn't really work that way. It's more like wondering about stuff, trying to figure stuff out, singing random songs, etc. It doesn't cheer me up, or motivate me, or tear me down, or anything like that. Also, it's just my own voice.

I don't have a voice for my internal monologue unless I think of my internal monologue. Then it's almost a child version of myself, or a softer spoken version of my own voice.

I suppose, normally it's like whispers but clear
