No but I heard there was a ton of snow and ice in monte carlo this year and the issue was the guy hitting black ice, probably would've happened with the old cars too sadly. A lot more safety in rally events should go to where spectators can go versus the cars themselves.

There is video where the spectactor in question is on the side of the road on the outside in a ridiculously risky location. Died of a heart attack rather than being hit but the real question will be what the hell he was doing in such a dangerous location. Utterly no fault on Paddons behalf and crowd control was in place. Its drat near impossible to seal off a stage at the Monte as well Edit : There is a story that the spectactor in question slipped from a higher location. The corner Paddon went off had neither. The actual video is up on Youtube if you feel like watching it.
