I like that Tai Lopez guy because the way he says "garage" reminds me of Weezer's blue album. This is my contribution to the 2000s thread, referencing a figure from the 2010s who reminds me of the 1990s. e: using facebook on your computer

Eric Conveys an Emotion Back when doing some stupid gag on the internet meant owning a webcam and knowing how to set up a website from scratch. Looks like it technically started in 99 but that's close enough.

I had a spare PC built in the cardboard box its motherboard came in. Convenient for dragging to LANs, but also immensely early-2000s. I wish I had pictures. LANs in general, I guess - dragging your PC towers and CRT monitors to somebody's house for a weekend of StarCraft, unreal tournament and frozen pizza. I mean, its equally much a 90s thing, but it somehow lived on until after I left highschool. Hell, we still have a yearly 3-day LAN playing Europa Universalis - but by now we're just weird old men with weird old man hobbies. Computer viking has a new favorite as of 13:46 on Oct 3, 2016 |

One thing I remember is visiting London in 2001 and seeing this colossal poster for Final Fantasy: Spirits Within in Leicester Square. That's pretty 2000s, but what's even more 2000s is what I subsequently learned, that they planned to use the CGI model of the main character in other, non-Final Fantasy movies, so they would have an infinitely-adaptable virtual actor who would never age and never quit. That movie nearly finished off the entire game company, it did so badly.

This goddamned oval office, gently caress I thought I had blocked that out. What were those newgrounds videos with the satyr-demon kid? And also, the ever escalating XiaoXiao fights. Sony's PS3 squirrel ads.

IIRC, the Squirrels were actually for PSP. While waiting for a job interview I sat in a B&N and read some of the Megatokyo omnibus that was just released (which may be the most 2000s thing ever), but it kicked off a huge pile of nostalgia for that era for me. Piro having an AIM conversation with Miho. Miho's phone being hot poo poo cus it had a camera and a data plan. Largo's obsession with Neverwinter Nights. Ping being a PS2 accessory. Piro and Largo playing Quake 3. And, for the anime fans in the room, Pia Charat, Excel Saga, Martian Successor Nadasco, Clannad being an obscure Visual Novel rather than some huge anime success, Air, and all the other piles of anime that history has relegated to the dustbin of "Oh, yeah, that thing!" Edit: Also, dunno if this is more "The most 2000s thing" or "the most 90s thing", but http://oneterabyteofkilobyteage.tumblr.com/ Neito has a new favorite as of 09:19 on Jan 20, 2017 |

Jeesis posted:Jokes on him, that is my fetish. Also, he got fed up with creepers and made her extremely overweight with a shaved head. Now there are just other types of creepers. Looked this up because I hadn't thought of those animations in years, and the creator pissing off his own audience sounded funny. Apparently extremely overweight means giant tits and a very hourglass figure. So I don't think he got upset at people sexualizing his creation so much as leaning hard into it. And in the newest videos, because good lord it's still going, she's back to her original look.
