Unsurprising this was a grad student. Well PhD. Evidently he graduated in 2013. My money was on postdoc. If the shooter wasn't crazy, then I wouldn't be suprised that the youth of the professor is related to the contention over theft. Professors stealing from students does happen. People forget academia, in particular the pressure to make tenure as a young professor in a lovely economy, is literally cut throat.
