I’m not familiar with Woods. I’m guessing he’s one of those reliable but not flashy receivers? The sort of guy you’d love to have as your WR2?

He's just really finishing his blocks and acting like the reps are crucial, which they are for him. Shanny said he liked it, contingent on watching the tape and making sure Hurd didn't do anything excessive. I really think think he could be good if they use him correctly, I mean imagine dual tight end sets with him and Kittle, both absolute burners. They're the exact same height, with Kittle a bit heavier and Hurd a teeny bit faster. Really intrigued by what they might do with him if he impresses. Jaron Brown is tall and fast. He can fill a similar role to Metcalf (and do more besides) and he's a veteran. He's a good player who I feel hasn't quite been unlocked yet, Russel Wilson could do great things for him. This guy is just acting on his own biases, it wouldn't be that surprising at all if Metcalf isn't ready to start in the opener. Bob Socko posted:I’m not familiar with Woods. I’m guessing he’s one of those reliable but not flashy receivers? The sort of guy you’d love to have as your WR2? I guess you could say that, although it's really selling him short. He literally does everything a receiver should do and he does it well. 86 receptions (average 14.2 so he's not short pass guy), 1200+ yards and six touchdowns last year. He gets pretty flashy sometimes, like when he takes a screen or a crossing route to the house. But yes, he basically is exactly the WR2 you would want. Just a great worker, a great catcher of the football, a great finisher. See, sometimes it behooves teams to just throw out a mil or two to keep high performers happy. Chiefs fans were acting like I was crazy to say that maybe they should throw Chris Jones some change considering that he's crucial to their vision on defense and they're trying to win the Super Bowl this year. Woods has been an absolute loving champ, I wouldn't hesitate to call him the most reliable receiver on the team and for sure he's the most well-rounded, dude can do anything. You left out the fact that Robert Woods is one of the run-blocking wide receivers in the league which makes McVay's sideline to sideline zone and jet run game work

But yeah he's a staple in the run game and he locks up DBs and delivers great crackback blocks, I should've made that clear. He basically does everything for them, he's a great player who should get more attention, especially after finishing this season with over 1200 yards.

For sure, just fun to see DK getting reps with the 1s. Those reps with Wilson now and during the off-season could be big for his development. But, rookoe WRs are kinda like rookie pass rushers, I expect little out of them in year 1 and figure they'll hit a wall even if they start well. On the other hand DK HYPE TRAIN LET'S GOOOO

I cant remember as much hype for a rookie in training camp as DK Metcalf.

It's funny because DK, Parris Campbell and Mecole Hardman were all drafted right around each other and so far all three are blowing up.

I think it was a good draft for receivers besides the fact that there were no clear-cut star guys in the draft. A very strong middle section (rounds 2-4) though with some players that I think could end up being very good
