Yea I just listened to two of his singles and holy poo poo are they bad. He's like a completely different person. How do you completely change your style that much? I guess I'll just throw in his first two albums and pretend he died.

shyne was pretty good back in the day but I don't think he was as good as people remember I always thought that the biggest lost potential was Killa Sin. dude probably had at least one classic solo album in him back during the killarmy days. unfortunately he's locked up right now and is also beefing with 9th prince so he won't be on the new killarmy album.

He's got a lot of stuff where it's pretty obvious he has at worst average rap skills (I think it's actually a great deal better than that, but I can see how some might not like it) but he's also not afraid to do stuff that's...utterly stupid (but possibly fun).

It's pretty good. A lot of people have said it but it really is amazing how far he's come since Hustlin. Very few people can overcome being outed as a former corrections officer when their whole image is the Tony Montana/Miami Coke Rap, so I give Ross huge credit for that, too. Wale is one of the weirdest guys to me, both on album and live. On his mixtapes and albums he does all these different styles, but in the end he just picks poo poo with that Go-Go drum pattern and its getting really played out. Ever since the Mixtape about Nothing he's fallen off harder and harder and his guest spots have been laughably bad. I used to grab something based on Wale's presence alone, but now that turns me off. I have to agree with alansmithee on Wale, when he says that he's making himself a moot point, much like Ras Kass. Wale's concerts are so hit and miss, too, that I really don't know how he continues to do well touring. Jock Mocken, thanks a ton for that link. Noz knows what's up, but I never check his writing on Complex.

Hey guys, kind of an out of left field question, but I've been listening to a bunch of old rap songs and I keep hearing this sample pop up of a woman saying, "Hey!" Off the top of my head, I know it's in Ghostface's "Mighty Healthy" and Lord Finesse's "True and Livin," but I know I've heard it in other songs. It seems to be one of those common samples you hear used in tons of songs, but I have no idea where it came from. Just wondering if any of you more knowledgeable in hip hop could sate my curiousity and tell me where it's from.

Listen to his discography, it's good music and you get to geek out when you recognize a sample like three times a song.
