Any chance you know where to buy a digital copy of the album? I'd love to support the artist, but I've only seen a store with CD and vinyl copies.

Their press release is here (http://www.facebook.com/treescouldtalk). Says Amazon and iTunes. Here it is on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Red-Forest/dp/B007IKVFMM.

Really liking the teasers from the pg.lost album.

According to their Facebook page:

"Today is the day! "Red Forest" is now available on iTunes, Amazon, and just about every other digital site you'd prefer. For you audiophiles, we will be posting a bandcamp page later today. We also have physical copies available here (http://ifthesetreescouldtalk.bigcartel.com/). Represses of the vinyl version will happen very soon as well."

Maybe give it a day? Edit: See above, I guess.

As for pg.lost, I thought their last album was underrated and seemed to pass this thread by, so I'm looking forward to hearing this new one.

Not sure if someone already posted them, but I've really been digging O - The sea of trees tape lately. Not a new album but I've been having trouble sleeping and it chills me right out. Very minimal and atmospheric, sort of reminds me of *shels softer moments. Any other bands like this? Stuff that has a very wide, ambient sound that isn't all about the big crescendos. I also really like that acoustic quality that sounds like they recorded it in a huge hall or something.

Just in case anyone missed it Sigur Rós have announced a new album called Valtari which comes out in May. Pitchfork has the track listing as well as the song Ekki Múkk

.

I like it, it reminds me of the Riceboy Sleeps album that Jónsi did with his boyfriend a few years ago.

Cut it out.
My first thought was Riceboy Sleeps too, and I didn't really like that album too much. I'm also not sure what Orri and Georg and going to be doing when they play this live since it has no drums or bass...

Also anyone who likes SR or Jónsi should check out Low Roar. I think he used to be in an indie pop band in California but moved to Iceland and started writing depressing, low-fi acoustic music. His voice is really similar to Jónsi and Thom Yorke, and he released his first album last year:

Té is great, but yeah, very hard to google. Here's their site, which no longer appears to offer english, but that side was never updated anyway, so muddle through the japanese side. At minimum, it's easy to find titles for their albums and google from there.

My pleasure, Easily Misunderstood is up there with all time favourite albums.

Also, I heard Ten Crept In a couple days ago and was a little unsure about the vocals, but listening to the whole thing I think they've done a pretty sweet job.

That actually sounds a lot like a project I've been working with on and off. Trying to get instruments to fade in and out of white noise generated by playing a billion notes at once.

Look up some of his other stuff, The Ascension is a classic and I really dig Symphony Number 5. The fidelity on a lot of that stuff is kinda eh but I like to imagine I'm seeing it in a big church or hall or something for maximum reverberation... also this gets a huge 'gently caress yes' from me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_e81MZ1l9U

According to their bandcamp page, if you pay $20 or more for this release, they'll e-mail you a link where you can download all 8 of their releases in MP3 format. Considering the fact that I've paid $20 for a single album before, and that I really like most (if not all) of The American Dollar's music, this is an absolute steal for me.

Edit: It appears that the link they sent me is just a big zip file with everything in it (about 976 MB). I'm not complaining, just wanted to give a heads up to anyone who has limited internet speed/bandwidth.

A lot more than 20% I'd say, half of the reviews seem like they're written by people who don't even like post-rock. Although they did give Deep Politics album of the year so they must be doing something right.
