i updated sickbeard, and now its on the wrong port (8082 instead of 8081) and has curiously enabled SSL and a password, which i dont normally use. is there a way to go into the ini file and change this? Is there any way to make anything snatched by CouchPotato to automatically choose the "movies" category in sabnzbd+? edit: Or can I just keep the default category/folder and CouchPotato is smart enough to know snatched files vs. others downloaded in sabnzbd? I just started using couchpotato. I notice that there's an option for 720p and also BR-RIPs. If i select BR-Rips, is it possible to get them in 720p, or do it just snatch whatever BR-RIP there is, regardless of resolution? Thanks.

They aren't scene standard but some people like them.

I imagine the same would be true of a file tagged "720p.BD-Rip".

As far as I can tell, nothing should be tagged as 720p BDRip. BDRip is the equivalent of DVDRip: standard definition from the best source available. Your BD-Rip downloads should be pulling huge 20-40GB uncompressed rips. 720p and 1080p HD Movies are x264 video in a MKV wrapper usually. "scene standards" and all that. Anywhere from 4-12GB depending on the specifics. Usually 8ish gigs for 1080p films in my experience. Fake edit: I think I found some of these files, at NZBMatrix there is a BRRIP category, that has all these really tiny xvid and x264 files. Some of them are 720p. Like feature length videos from 800MB to 2GB. That's really low quality. Might be where the confusion is coming from. It looks like it's BluRay as a source, but not the proper quality.

Last time I asked about a Windows build someone just said no plans yet and when people ask about beta releases of CP v2 he just points to the github. Compiling the Windows build is a pain in the rear end so it likely won't be done until its ready for wide release. If you have the option, just installing a copy of Python 2.7 takes a minute and then you can just run whatever you want from source (maraschino, sickbeard, CP, etc). My Astraweb account failed to renew since I didn't give them my new CC, and I can't reactivate it because my login session immediately expires. Since I can't find any way of fixing this, is there a Usenet seller that has an actual working loving login page that is at least as good as Astraweb? e: oh wait I fixed it by going to the wrong domain name which then gave me a security warning but let me login properly. Still want a better company to move to.

Highwinds has sometimes been recommended against, since they have the most resellers and hence the most exposure to DMCA takedowns. Giganews (Supernews) has some of the best pricing, and Astraweb is also competitive. Astraweb is an EU-based company (but has US-based servers), which is why I chose them. As I'll outline below, it doesn't matter too much which you choose if you can choose two. One frequent recommendation is to pick Giganews or Astraweb as your unlimited provider and use Blocknews (Readnews) as a backup provider. Regardless of the specifics, having both an unlimited and a block plan from different providers is a solid way to ensure completion. There are recent block offerings with larger, cheaper block plans that change the economics of block plans mentioned in the OP, and that might make having two or more block plans attractive, too. One other thing to note: Blocknews allows account sharing, and since backup server usage is pretty sporadic with an unlimited plan, pooling your resources with a friend can be cost-effective for your backup plan.

I will throw in my 2 cents and say that I use blocknews and blocknews only as my primary usenet provider. my internet is  capped to 75GB on peak + 75GB off peak data a month. Depending what I want to download that month Im not pushing any more than maybe 50GB or so a month. it makes no sense to have a subscription of $10 a month when I cant actually use more than 150GB a month anyway.in the last 2 years I have spend $140 on blocks (100GB to test the waters, 200 to keep on keepin on and then a 500GB block once i got sickbeard and currently half way through another 500GB block) which, if I had used a $10/mo sub it would be double that with no additional perk to me. I very rarely have completion issues, even on older stuff. I mean, you guys in places that have no restrictions, it makes sense to not have restrictions on your usenet either, but for me and the amount i download, blocknews is pretty much the best deal.

Newznab is a resource hog and for a popular site requires a pricey server setup. Hes always been against forcing people to pay for access but I'm fairly sure he will be seeking donations to keep it going.

Even telstra offer 200gb on there $69 plan. Also If you are australian and you are on internode/iinet use there newservice as you get about 35 days retention for free.
