They're one of those bands that I heard about from Silent Ballet a few years ago and thought were really good but I haven't listened to in quite some time.

Looks like you guys have a pretty unique setup. Looking forward to seeing the video :)

I mean, I'd rather attend one of your shows in person, but the last time I was in New York was around a decade ago and I don't foresee myself going back anytime soon, unfortunately :(

No Russian Circles in the UK :(

Also a bit of an odd question but where can I get a mug with a post rock band on it? *ShelsMusic don't sell them, I can get a russian circles canteen but not a mug. None of the bigger bands. I can't be pretentious at work without a post rock mug damnit!

Back on topic have you guys heard Latitudes? They are drat ace if you are into the heavier stuff.

Maybe I just don't have a soul, but I've listened to pretty much every Mono album at some point or another but none of it ever really stuck with me afterwards. Well, with the exception of The Flames Beyond the Cold Mountain and Burial At Sea. Those are some decent tunes I guess.

I'm probably going to listen to their new album regardless, because I'm a complete sucker for post rock with strings in.

The only concerts we get around here are moldy oldies at the casino. Last time I saw a live show was in high school sometime, I think. The only play to buy CDs in this feckin' town is at Target, for chrissakes.

So yeah. Not likely to be doing that any time soon, unfortunately. :smith:

Well they've never played here in New Orleans I don't think, but twice I've driven an hour away to Baton Rouge to see them because they'll play there instead of here for some unknown reason. Anyway, they were loving incredible both times. Among the best live performances I've ever seen. Better than many other post-rock bands I've seen live too (Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, Pelican, etc.)

I was worried about their next album since I felt Hymm was a bit weak in places, but holy heck did that trailer give me nerdchills. It really does sound like a perfect fusion of those two albums.

Agreed, I saw Mono on tour with Pelican, and they were definitely the more impressive band. That said, I've seen Pelican twice and come away a bit disappointed both times. They're much better on record than live. And their EPs are better than their albums.

Yeah, I really wasn't impressed with them that much at all when I saw them live :( I saw them with Isis and Isis was way better.

This was in 2009 after What We All Come To Need came out, and I didn't care for that album. Their whole set kind of ran together and I couldn't really tell individual tracks apart. I was hoping they'd play a good bit of material from Australasia / The Fire In Our Throats, but from what I could tell, they weren't.

Hey guys, preorders of our album are going up today.

This is what our label had to say about it. (I don't want to type it all out)

The LP is pressed on 180 gram translucent blood-red vinyl and comes housed in a sturdy jacket with some of the best cover artwork we’ve seen in a long time. The first pressing is a hand-numbered edition of 250 and includes a full-color insert and a hand-numbered silk-screened poster. Each copy also includes a digital download code for those of you who don’t have a turntable in your car or at work…. you get the idea.

$20 minimum
$5 shipping to US/Canada
$15 shipping everywhere else

You can preorder on our site right now. I'm pretty stoked about this. More professional shots of the whole package are on their way which will include the poster and insert.
