I was trying to find a video of Mabel making the pelican tell a joke at the end of the episode with the animatronic lake monster, but found another thing: click God, I love this show. Having little siblings pays off when they introduce you to stuff like this and A:TLA. While I thought the latest one was a little lowbrow what with the "disposable" camera gag, I just about lost my poo poo when Soos did his bigfoot impression, 'cause I got the reference. The beavers, while dumb, were so drat adorable ("I am still a beaver!"). Dyatlov Bass fucked around with this message at 10:20 on Jul 4, 2012 |

This show just keeps getting better and better, I especially loved "They even have their own Soos!" *cuts to janitor with nametag that says 'Deuce'* That had me giggling like an idiot for about 30 seconds. Also, Thurop van Orman! edit: god drat it, I just got this new avatar without spotting w00tmonger's first. So.....do we have enough episodes for a quote thread yet? I thought episode 4 was better than episode 1 or 3 and just slightly better than episode 2. However Gideon reminds me of that fat kid from Johnny Test, which scares me if he's going to be the main antagonist. He has the same motivation as that Test character who's name escapes me, which is just "I WANT TO DATE YOUR SISTER" and "I HAVE MORE MONEY THAN THE PROTAGONISTS". So the reason why it scares me is that it could really grow stale in future episodes if he's not developed more or maybe goes insane or something. I just feel that he shouldn't be featured regularly because he doesn't seem to have much going for him other than this one episode.

The third episode is clearly the best. Can't beat a Red Dawn reference and Wax Larry King voiced by Larry King.

I was looking up Gravity Falls on YouTube and somebody had uploaded a clip of the unaired pilot, which had a different (awful) animation style: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1X1KxUl2Pxo It's neat how Mabel is practically unchanged in the final version while Grunkle Stan is a completely different character. Neil Cicierega just posted a couple of his unused Gravity Falls themes to his tumblr. Since I'm not sure if they're hosted anywhere else, here are the links: http://neilcicierega.tumblr.com/post/26581987556 http://neilcicierega.tumblr.com/post/26584833238 I'm not a huge fan of the first one, but the second one is more what I would expect out of Cicierega. Very catchy, fast-paced song. Frankly I still think the theme song we got is the best it could have been, but I know these were mentioned earlier in the thread and they're here now! EDIT: if someone can find another host for these I'll edit this post because gently caress tumblr's music player is awful Poultron fucked around with this message at 00:36 on Jul 6, 2012 |

I've got to agree. Neil's proposed themes aren't bad, but the theme the show got just completely blows them out of the water. It just perfectly encapsulates everything great about the show.
