Those look more like pickaxe holes, too large for a bullet unless someone shot that car with a 20 mm.

Tennessee Tri-Cities, so Bristol/Kingsport/Johnson City area. If I had $350 I'd actually consider buying it, something broken in me wants a Disco-Nova.

sbaldrick posted:I believe this is the single worst car ever offered in this thread. When I was shopping for my first car way back in 1996 I saw one of these for sale in Auto Trader for $400. An '84 I think? Anyway, I was all like "OMG I HAVE $400!!" but then my parents (mom, really) pulled some "my house, my rules" bullshit and said no convertibles. I ended up with a Lincoln Continental instead. I guess in retrospect it would have probably been a pretty terrible first car for someone who'd never done any sort of car work and knew almost nobody personally who did. Still would have been a billion times better than the '85 V12 XJS coupe or the '82 928 I looked at. Now, $400 I'd do (especially back then) but $4500? Hell no.

i think K cars are litterally made of plastic from the unibody on up. maybe even the cylinder heads. At the very least there is zero percent wood material involved in any 1980s domestic exterior paneling. Of course we all know that. the door panels however are probably still from the cardboard with velour layered on top, so that counts as some wood i guess. also the part you staple into for the soft top is made of compressed fiberboard stuff. ok, its a woody. My folks had a Chrysler Laser when I was a teenager, and it did the speaky-talky thing. I thought it was the best thing ever. Even better was pressing the System Check button while Mom was driving (which cycled through all of the possible voice alerts) and watching her flip her poo poo thinking everything on the car just suddenly broke. Yea they have all the fun of any other classic british sports car with the fun of a all fiberglass body, but they are more than awesome enough to make up for all the downsides. It will never be a super valuable car, but who cares thats not the point of cars. Granted I may have a soft spot for them since my dad had a '79 when I was a kid, and I loved riding around in that thing. I am still pissed he sold it before I was old enough to drive it.

Easy buddy, I love me some S1. Just not a $3500 one that clearly has been sitting in a field with its windows down for the last 10 years. You might as well be starting your restoration with a bucket of paper mache and a pile of rust.
