WE ARE SMART
This is such a great show. I knew this was going to be something big as soon as I saw, in episode 4, Gideon's book. It's funny, the characters are fun and likable, it looks nice, and the plot that's emerging is interesting. There's obviously been a lot of love put into this show, and I hope it continues the standard of quality the first few episodes have set.

It's been a while since I seen a show where every single main and side and bit character is amazing.

Also I don't think I have ever seen a cartoon with neat hidden messages.

I was really worried about Wendy being "that female character" but at least judging by Episde 5, she is incredible.

The annoying thing about this is that something in episode 5 has inspired, IMO, the most avatar-worthy moments so far and I feel like I've jumped the gun on my purchase.

The part that makes it for me is the low humming of the fridges besides her. It's so perfect and I don't know why.

Also "BLEVEN... TEEN." and everything leading up to it is hilarious too.
I can't wait for this episode to air properly so I can gush about it - I think it's the best so far.

edit: oh, oh, and "You're a dance machine!" "No, you're a dance machine!" is also brilliant.

It doesn't really sound like a full theme as much as it sounds like a prototype for the theme they ended up with.

The theme song is so good. I can't really place why. It seems to capture the feeling of the show so well.

Yeah, it's the base they used (you can hear the different parts) but there's no section which is exactly the theme.

Finally saw the episode. It's hilarious as usual but I was pretty floored to see a Simpsons reference. It's a very recognizable one too.

Also the part where Dipper flips Mabel's hair in front of her face. Once the episode airs I need a gif of her after he does it. So funny. So is the crazy punching multiple arm dolphin rainbow lazer beam creature she creates while dripping on the candy holy cow I had to pause the episode I was laughing so hard.

edit: oh yeah I agree that Wendy is a great character

Watched the episode too. Once it airs, I will have already made an avatar of Dipper shoving the ice cream bar onto his face. With Adventure Time, I didn't have cable for a while, so I have a lot to catch up on. I'm not used to watching a cartoon as it comes out like I am with Gravity Falls.

I got my wife to watch this with the hook, "It's like a wacky animated Eerie, Indiana." She is enjoying it very much.

This definitely explains why the twin dynamic with Mabel and Dipper is so goddamn genuine. Usually when twins are in a cartoon they're either super focused on how similar they are or how different they are, even when they deal with fraternal twins.

The interaction between Mabel and Dipper really makes the show. The balance they have between teasing and supporting each other is so much like real siblings.
