Shitgate was loving hysterical, especially the songs that Richard did. I guess now we know what it takes to get fired by Howard. (Come in late consistently and contribute nothing? Job safe. Take a dump on the floor? Fired.)

Bonzo posted:who was it? Tim Sabean. He wasn't actually fired, but Howard threatened that if he had to pay for the costly DNA test to find out who it was, that person would be fired. He offered amnesty if whoever did it came in and admitted it, and Tim eventually relented. For once Howard actually sounded serious about the firing, though, unlike when he's talking to Benji.

I like how even Stern would fire someone for leaving explosive diherria all over a bathroom, yet my workplace didn't even question it when my co-worker did it (he's a disgusting slob).

Does anyone want to bet the budget of this porno is maybe more than they spend on a budget per week of actual shows?

Sometimes I hear the morning show hacks on the air now ragging on Stern because his show wasn't as great as it used to be and part of me wants to call in to say "The guy was #1 in how many markets for how many years? I'm sure your audience right now is about 1/100th of what his was. Stop acting like you would have a job if it wasn't for Stern." Then the other part of me figures "Eh, they probably just did a pound of blow an hour earlier and have no idea what's going on anyways."

I'm listening to some old official Best Ofs that they used to air when the show was on break and it's depressing how consistently amazing they are. They were masterful at taking a ton of 5-10 minute bits and stringing them together to be works of art. The "WHATS AMATTA" chick, the mom who kept calling in asking Howard to go to her son's eagle scout graduation and was given like 5 phony joke-line numbers over the course of a month, the entire Gary Busey interview leading up to the 'attack' on Robin and Howard and all the aftermath, incredible stuff. It reminds me of how little they're doing with the tapes nowadays. There's endless material and they mostly just play long interviews or the most prominent fights. I miss the shuffle, it was the closest thing to the old BOS shows. Also I miss Artie, good lord. There was a Dennis Rodman interview where he made me laugh out loud with every single line.

A big part of it is they don't need content anymore, they don't need the radio format of trying to hook people, so you get good and bad at the same time. There isn't a ratings hunger, but you also get personal conversations and in depth looks at topics, I love when something interested goes down in general news because it is interesting to hear Howard talk about it, even telling his stories about his dog are great. He needs an agitator like Artie back in there.

I'm upset that we don't hear about Gary's pitch more often. As much poo poo as Artie gave him immediately afterwards, it pretty much disappeared when Artie left. From Gary's perspective, that pitch was probably infinitely more embarrassing than the ma...ma...ma...marriage video.
