I would have picked Hanar. One of their abilities causes them to draw 5 additional guns and fire them all at once.

My only knowledge of mass effect is through the multiplayer and whatever I read on the wiki. The leviathans sound like the ultimate badasses. I'd like to play as one.

I'm liking the info displayed on these though. The Great Asari Adept mystery game will be no more. And I'm assuming the skill points will be a much better indicator of experience than N7 Rating is.

I can imagine every Elcor class being a dude who can't sprint but has over 10k health and shields. Can't use guns, but all of his tech/biotic abilities involve various cannons mounted onto his shoulders. Is there a straight up changelog index or something for previous patches/dlc? I was interested in reading up on the last handful of patches I missed since I just started playing again, but wading through the forums announcements is a bit heavy. Also, if you want to add me and invite me to games, I'm pretty terrible. My Origin is Deiterbomber. I haven't even went into a Gold game (knowingly, anyway) since I started playing again. Played this for the first time today, started off as a Human Soldier (Apparently a rookie mistake). I quickly learned my sniper abilites are mostly useless here. I've always been a soldier so any suggestions on what I should do to move onto a new class?

This situation is basically perfect. Whether the Volus classes are genuine or this is just an incredibly elaborate troll, I will be satisfied regardless. Human Engineer is not bad, and Cryo Blast works well with the Mantis so Human Infiltrator is not awful either. Get a Veteran Pack early and hopefully you can get another class, which will probably be better.

That'll trigger a biotic explosion, which does huge extra damage. If you can get the hang of making biotic explosions, you're set. Win a few bronze games and keep buying veteran packs until you get something except a basic human. All the uncommon classes are a step up and some of them (like the salarian engineer) actually hold up really well at higher difficulties. Gestalt Intellect posted:This situation is basically perfect. Finally unlocked the Fury, and am liking it. She's so fragile, though, I had some difficulty getting used to her. I decided to put a Scorpion on her and that made poo poo way better. Also, the Battlefield 3 class is a regular rare now? I didn't really care to unlock it...

If anyone needs help tomorrow getting the challenge just ask me, although I will state that I got it like 9 times over today with randos. The only time we failed to get bronze under 20 was a time when everyone but me refused to escort and I got tired of carrying the team so I stopped too until they came over to help. I was generally averaging about 15 minutes a match with some groups that weren't very good. Here's a crazy thing, I decided to use a phaeston with an Asari vanguard and just wrecking poo poo. I don't exactly know why though. Rick fucked around with this message at 10:36 on Oct 7, 2012 |

Yeah, I'm just now getting into the swing of using it and it's great. If you're having durability issues, you can use Annihilation Field through cover, which means you can either teleport behind a wall and keep detonating it or just stay crouching. (And if all else fails, if you have Annihilation Field on while you're bleeding out you make a pretty effective booby trap.)

You'd think so, but coming out 7 months after launch, I bet they're not going to bother trying to backtrack the achievements of every single person who's played the multiplayer. Especially seeing as the weapons ones are apparently points-based. Even if they wanted to backtrack, I really doubt they had anything in place prior to this to track that kind of thing at all; it would've been pointless before they thought this up. Unless that's how they tracked usage, but I would think "what weapon do they take into the match" would be much simpler and more accurate. I've always been a soldier so any suggestions on what I should do to move onto a new class? Yeah you want to avoid Soldier until you get some better guns unlocked. My advice is to buy recruit packs until you get your common guns leveled to 10 it won't take that long and an 10 the Katana, Mantis, Predator and Avenger are pretty good. Also there is an event on this weekend so try to finish a game in under 20 mins with a full extraction and you'll get a free promo gun on Tuesday, the promo guns are mostly really good. Here is the recommended build for Human Sentinel: http://narida.pytalhost.com/me3/classes/#30OQOFFA9@0@A@@@0@0@0@0 If you get this build to 20 and get your Avenger to X you can start clearing gold with it for 70 000 credits a game. If you're on 360 I can walk you through the easy gold setups when you're ready, I've done it before with total newbies. Posting your platform/ID is the easiest way to find goons to play with.

Yeah, I outscored a missile glitcher edit: scratch that, the very next game i played i dropped into a wave 6 plat and the dude was missile glitching the whole time (364k). now i remember why i stopped playing this game. Played a match with a level 14 Salarian Engineer with a level 3 Argus, gold Cerberus on Vancouver, he scored 160k points. Didn't see him use any consumables and he had no rail amps etc. Really curious as to what was going on there, nothing about that combination should be scoring so highly.

Good games today. My connection started to suck during the last game though. I was lagging out and then the next thing I knew I was dead right before we wiped on that platinum. It seems like the BatSent continually has the lowest score on the plat farming though. Is it cause his biotics aren't as powerful or am I just playing him wrong?

Hey Nwin good games. BatSent tends to score lower than he should because he's always the detonator of the biotic combo and the points go to the primer; so don't worry about the score. Sorry about the mixups today NameNotANumber hopefully we'll get a chance to play together again soon.

Drunken_Pirate posted:I'd rather imagine that he was just really good. I mean, look at this guy's ME3 videos. He's freakishly good and regularly gets those kind of scores even with "crappy" weapons, but in order to do so he uses builds specifically designed to work well with the chosen loadout and is always decked out in consumables. A lvl 14 SalEng w/ Argus has basically no special offensive capability that would make him stand out DPS wise, and generally speaking if you don't out-damage your teammates you're not going to out-score them. Entering non-farming Gold games without consumables is maybe OK if you use one of the top-tier (overpowered) builds like KroGuard or GethInf, but really not advisable on a mainly support class with a mediocre weapon (if you want to score high / deal lots of damage). Maybe it'd be somewhat workable if you can offset the disadvantage with skill, but not top-score-by-large-margin workable. Combine that with the fact cheaters tend to modify weapons generally seen as not worthwhile (=rarely used by other players) to lessen the chances of being discovered, and the whole setup reeks of cheating.

SirViver posted:Yeah, I doubt that. To get those kinda scores you really need to outperform the other players by an order of magnitude, and while technically possible if the other three players including you sucked really bad and the game took 35-40 minutes because he was essentially soloing, the Argus on a SalEng is not going to give you that kind of performance, especially without consumables. Yeah I figure he was cheating. I think the two others were on about 45k and I was on 75 having spent most of the game dead. I noticed a few times where he got credit for killing enemies he could barely have seen, if they were in his line of sight at all. Strange thing is he was talking on the mic for a lot of it and came across as just an average player. I guess you wouldn't openly talk about cheating for fear of a ban.

These days, I almost always get third place in silver matches. I think part of it is that I just don't know where all the spawn points are yet and find myself running around looking for enemies while the two players who are higher than me in kills know where they are going to be beforehand.

So did they fix Banshees grabbing you from long distances by just lengthening the distance everything else could grab you? Because I got vacuumed into a Brute grab from at least 10 feet away on the first game I played today. It was on the extraction wave too. Speaking as someone who knows the majority of the spawn points, it still comes down a lot to luck. The one thing I can advise to help is occasionally doubling back on your route. Very frequently you'll get spawns a point or two behind you now that they're clear; half the time the last enemy of a wave is that one enemy who popped back there while everyone just keeps pushing forward and ends up at the opposite side of the map from it.
