It was, I believe, on a December day when the show was officially on vacation, and instead of playing Best Of, they let Benjy have a couple of hours.

Howard's last day on FM was actually two weeks before his contract was up. Those two weeks were normal vacation weeks and krock just played best of.

Benjy begged to have a show during that time and Tom obliged. Unfortunately I never heard it as my local station started with a new radio show the Monday immediately after Howard's last show.

Ya I remember him sitting in but I dont think he was ever staff. He was just banned from the show.
That seat filler time period had some awful guests sitting in sometimes.

AJ was also in with the E! network so there was some cross promotion going on at that time.

I haven't heard Wednesday's show but unfortunately he was pretty reserved Tuesday night. I was really praying for a full meltdown but he only ranted once or twice the whole time.

I came across this Brad Garrett interview and holy poo poo, this guy is amazing. For 43 minutes he's running circles around everyone in the studio. He even called Artie out on being a liar, and steamrolled Howard and Beth. The quick food jabs at Artie are loving hilarious too. I don't see why they don't have this guy on more often...

He's been on at least twice, maybe three times, and every one has been terrific. I had zero expectations when I first heard he was coming on, but the guy absolutely kills it every time. Big fan, big fan.

I finally got through the Hurricane shows. The Gary ballbusting is the worst I've heard in years. Like what a lot of you guys said here, Howard is way off his rocker with his criticisms, but god drat if it wasn't hilarious. I just love Howard's "bawf" voice and when he shits on Gary.

I spent 25 years in Florida and got all sorts of Hurricane time off of work and school, so Howard is way off base and insane expecting everyone to come in. The people who came in did so because they didn't want to be mocked.

Also, all of the guests had canceled for those days, so Howard had to find something to pass the time. Relentlessly ripping on Gary was it. And it was great.

One of the best parts of the hurricane was it meant Bobo and Pete from Motherfucking Stupid rear end Pittsburgh and all the other useless sycophant dicks weren't able to call in and we got two random people on the air who have never been able to get through before, and neither of them praised Howard TV.

Back in '04, Charlie tore a chunk off the roof on Friday, tarped it up by Sunday, and I was back to work by Monday. I should put in for the Jackie/Artie/Shuli chair.

Yeah I heard that interview and it was awesome. I'm not familiar with the guy at all and just know him as the big dumb guy from that sitcom. It totally changed my opinion.

Honestly, I can say the same about a lot of interviews Howard does. He'll have people on there I know nothing about or have incorrect opinions about. By the end of the interview I find myself totally into it, wanting more from the guest.

The interview with that Rich guy from extremely embarrassing boy-band LFO was one of the best ever examples of this phenomenon. I was dreading that portion of the show, nearly fast-forwarded it, and it turned into one of the best interviews in Sirius history.

He's caught in the fog of lazy. Even with his college degree in psychology from Washington University, he's been on a 25+ year streak of not doing much. Guy's already used to his life as it is. Wouldn't be surprised if he was totally fine mentally.

Finally listened to the hurricane poo poo. Howard is such a oval office, with robin dog piling on everyone that didn't come in. Didn't he take days off because he was too tired after AGT filming? And while I know it's good radio to bust balls I genuinely think he has a grudge to anyone that didn't show up. I know Robin has some medical issues but that just means she should have shut her fat rear end up instead of berating people. I loved when Richard stood up to her.

It took Howard about 6 minutes to talk about The King of Comedy which is nearly 30 years old.

I love the "What don't you like about Howard?" game. For the first time ever I agreed with Scott DePace about calling Howard out about John Sarno.

Also, I loved Steve Brandano essentially calling Howard out of touch for not wanting to have on possibly interesting guests. But, by all means Howard, keep bringing Sandra Bernhard on!

Just like Mama used to make it!
King of Comedy should be remade with Sal and Maryanne. But instead of Rupert living wit his mom, they can have him married to Christine. I can just see the scene in my head where Sal is blasting intro music, talking to cardboard cut outs and Christine is screaming at him to shut up.

Yeah that was insane. The Black Keys are apparently huge fans and asked to go on the show but Howard (and Gary) turned them down. He said it was because he didn't know anything about them and he figured the audience wouldn't find anything interesting about them.

That's loving dumb. He has people on all the time to promote books and movies he knows nothing about. The Black Keys are crazy popular. Of course the audience will like the interview. It's not like anyone really gives a poo poo about what Sandra is up to.
