I'm not sure if this has been reposted but the last thread had this video of a comedy sketch where people are playing some party game with a buzzer and it ends with a dude holding the buzzer down until the sound warps and it zooms in on his face as he turns toward the camera super serious. I didn't know about this feature: Youtube now offers an "Original" option for video resolution higher than 1080p. My screen is 2560p wide, so this is really enjoyable. I think they started supporting higher resolutions a couple years ago, but hardly anybody uploads things in resolutions higher than 1080. Hell, I can't even stream 1080p from youtube faster than it plays. I don't know if it's me (I'm on a 50mbit cable connection) or Google's servers, but I always end up having to switch to 720. I can't even pause the video to load the whole thing because it only buffers like 30 seconds now.

Google's been doing some fishy things with ISP peering involving throttling and localized caches apparently, since YouTube is by and far one of the largest drains on bandwidth in the world and a bane to the existence of ISP's everywhere. People have been able to get around them by setting firewall rules to REJECT packets to and from 206.111.0.0/16 to force youtube to fall back on its normal servers. Seemed to work for me anyway, More Info

That's super sad that that lady would say something like that, I feel really bad for that guy, but I do think the counselor handled it right. It really IS irrelevant whether there's a sister or not, and so she's addressing that not actually being an excuse, which is very hard to argue with, as opposed to addressing the veracity of the claim, which the lady seemed very willing to do, as evidenced by her jump to the claim that they don't talk about the sister because the husband had an affair. I mean, jesus, right there she reveals herself to be insane, so there's really no point at all in even trying to worry about whether or not it's true. The sister/affair claims are something to be dealt with by a shrink, not a hoarding counselor. Those hoarding counselors are precisely there to keep things focused on removing the junk and nothing else, because that's the one thing the hoarders can't/won't do otherwise.

You see intervention and while the people are doing mean and unlikable things the generally seem just like broken sad people. Maybe that's just the mental state or something.
