Mega64 had a few really magnificent out-of-the-parkers at the Game Developer's Choice Awards last night. I was crying from laughter after watching their Journey one, it's seriously incredible. edit: if you watch the whole awards show, Tim Schafer spoils a major part of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead. If you haven't played it, might want to not watch the rest of the awards show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8ggCb-eH4k&t=800s If you have the time, watching the Indie Games Festival Awards is great too. Not necessarily for humor, but to see a man who clearly doesn't realize how good a game he's made, or does, but feels other people deserved the award more, sweep almost all the awards with Cart Life, an incredibly harrowing and stressful game about life as a food cart owner, among other things. In the US you can get knocked out, or just local anasthetic. I had the local anasthetic, it was perfectly fine. Perfectly fine except for the sound of a man literally breaking my wisdom teeth apart. A cracking sound I never wish to hear ever again.

I had strabismus throughout my childhood and decided to get it fixed when I finally got on my own insurance at age 20 and they gave me the option of just a local anesthetic for a procedure that involved putting a blade through my eyeball to cut the affected muscle.

I think I must be one of those unfortunates because when I had mine taken out the Novocaine wouldn't completely numb me no matter how much they gave me and I wasn't going to pay for anesthetic. It was already underway when it started to really grind on me but I told him I wasn't stopping for nothing. I have to say, having your teeth broken apart while you can feel it is real interesting. The pain could be described as exquisite. That said, I did get to scare the gently caress out of the assistant who was really, really uncomfortable/freaked out because of the obvious pain I was in combined with the occasional uncontrolled twitching and the drill spraying saliva/blood gooplets occasionally.
