I think I'm really screwed on the subject of Giant Saurian Sages. They're never in that room at the Rotwood Depository. I think they only appear on the first playthrough of Bitterblack Isle, and when you can access the boss' second form, then they're gone. Can anyone please give me a Moonshimmer pelt through my pawn? I just need one so I can dupe it at Mountebank.

It's 30k for moving expenses to get them to agree to the unlawful eviction so Fournival can sell the land, or 80k to Fournival to buy their land yourself so they can remain. The latter is really just a shortcut to finish the quest, you don't actually get a house or anything.

Gyoru posted:I can't find any Moonshimmer Pelts either. All of the saurians I've encountered in Rotwood are normal sized saurian sages. Maybe the drop chance is just absurdly low. I have so many Argentine Sacs and Snowy Saurian Skins. The sad, ironic part is I once fought Giant Saurian Sages in that side room and I found 2 pelts. Then an Elder Ogre kept one shot killing me in that tight corridor where he spawns (and where pawns seem to love just running through) and I lost them and they didn't drop the 2nd time through. If only I knew how rare they were. edit: just scored a new item from Bitterblack Novelty. "Expediting Papers" that shortens the time required to forge items at Mountebank. I'm not sure how short though, but they're part of the "Other" category and seem to be a passive boost. Also got the Elite Lantern. Lunethex fucked around with this message at 19:48 on Apr 27, 2013 |

How long is all the new content? I'm debating starting a brand new game and actually levelling all the classes this time because I want to try other things and levelling mystic knight with massively out of date weapons is a bit poo poo since the vendors only have the starting stuff. I just get the feeling I might burn out if I try the full game again. Also if I did that do I keep the eternal ferrystone?

It's weird if the PS3 doesn't have either.

I'm willing to trade any Bitterblack Armor or Weapon Lv.3 for just a Moonshimmer Pelt please. I can farm the boss in 10 minutes (from the shortcut to the treasure room) so it's no problem. Also, if anybody has a Banshee Larynx I will give you my soul. I've killed so many Banshees and I only got 2 Banshee Locks ever.

YOU have to run around searching for THEM, or else they'll just give up and walk away once that period in the game ends, and you'll fail the quest.

I was really glad we got out of there alive so that I could rate her before sending her home. Wow, someone actually rented my pawn and it did well On another note, I ran into the first chained gorecyclops and while I figured I should avoid it, and the pawns kept warning me, one of them attacked it gung ho and I almost got one-shotted, even at level 62 with Everfall gear.

Is there a consensus on which vendor is the best to give the Gold Idol too? I know all of them get different inventories with different idols, but I'm mostly focusing on physical damage and not much spellcasting or armor. Is there a vendor who gets items that can't be found anywhere else?

Well, I've nearly finished getting every vocation to max level. Just Magick Archer left now. Soon I shall be able to set myself on fire at will. Jumped out of Bitterblack for a while to get back to the postgame and dragonforge a few things. Once you know what you're doing and have a portcrystal network set up, it really doesn't take very long. Picked up a few more Wakestones just in case. I don't know if anybody else knew this (I didn't), but the Magick Knight can set up a crazy combo with Ruinous Sigil and Heavy Cannon, or whatever the top level of those is. You set up your sigil(s), stick the cannon(s) on top, and every time some fool trips the sigil, the cannon fires off too. Was standing in that place where there's infintie baddies spawning in the postgame, just putting sigils and three cannons down. Had some crazy-rear end slowdown, and it was hilarious. Lightning and baddies flying all over the place. It was very pretty. Anyway, even at Level 100+, Bitterblack Isle is still quite challenging since my Vocation is at level 3 or so and I haven't got many skills yet. I'm kind of tempted to just bust out Assassin and go hog wild every so often. gently caress the Elder, uh, thing that likes women. Forgot his name. Oh, while I remember, where do you get Moonbeam Gems or whatever they're called? I found one in one of the rest places, are they in set locations or are they random loot? Awesome room again here. Reminds me for every bullshit fight there's a few amazing ones. Room again with the 2 Gorecyclopses and Sirens and I think some other thing, and this time, 2 Eliminators. So I shot down the Sirens easily and plugged the Eliminators with a few arrows as I pondered my next move, how to lure the Eliminators to the hall without one of my pawns whacking a cyclops. Then I remembered enemies fought each other. A few arrows to the thing's helm later and I'm watching the cage match from above. The Cyclops won, though I did weaken the Eliminators a bit. But given that the 'clops still had about 4 of his lifebars after the Garms spawned(which, of course I let in on the cage match as well-he killed one of them, but the other two escaped and I killed them. Holy poo poo that was good times. I hate that drat resilient Drake though. Ugh. More like 'made so you get to hack at the thing forever unless you happen to have some element which I think is lightning or ice.' It died, but jesus.

Yeah, if you want weapons for physically-centered classes, you choose the blacksmith, and if you want magically-centered and female-only items, you choose the lady. Make sure you make a forgery of the idol before you turn it in so you can still have the shop discount. Hackan Slash posted:That fight is really points out the shortcomings of the pawn system. One thing I don't remember is if the effects of giving the idols carry over to NG+. I mean, they're not available up front, but once the quests activate? No, those things have disgusting amounts of HP and defense. Dire gouge as an Assassin with an enchantment on still takes forever to kill them with, especially when they decide they want to spend all day shaking around. My character is more geared to MK, though. Maybe not having 800 strength is why. Lotish posted:One thing I don't remember is if the effects of giving the idols carry over to NG+. As far as I've noticed, the new inventory from the idol is available as soon as you get to Gran Soren, so giving the idol to the person you didn't give it to the first time will always be better.

Ugh, I have to remember that even though I've played this game a whole shitload, it doesn't make me invincible.
