Ever since I found out that pretty much every 12" Lindstrom ever put out is in its original, unedited form on Spotify, I've been listening to "Fast and Delirious" on repeat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0n-fX5DxdqU Tightly wound disco goodness.

New Sigur Ros. Isjaki. So loving good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dF6E47Pn6mY I wish I got into Sigur Ros earlier. I cannot find a song I don't like by them and 90% of them give me goosebumps even on repeated listening. AWOLNATION - Some Kind of Joke https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NguiusL1gJI Their new song on the Iron Man 3 soundtrack. I've probably listened to it a dozen times today. Also, Blackmill - Lucid Truth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFzsSbdS7Sk One of my favorite chill-out songs.

I've been watching a lot of Horrible Histories lately and while a lot of their songs are pretty catchy, I played this one over and over for a few hours because it kept getting stuck in my head. The Borgia Family https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RaITtjcTy0 It's a song about an 15th century Italian crime family set to the tune of The Adams Family.

My friend keeps telling me to watch Epic Rap Battles of History, and they always end up sucking horribly because their "rappers" couldn't rap if their loving life depended on it. I'm going to show this to him and hopefully it'll get him to move on to this series instead since it's way more tolerable. Stoned Jesus - Electric Mistress https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7amX-4ToBMs

Makeup and Vanity Set -- A Glowing Light, A Promise Actually a lot of this album is pretty good, it has a fairly awesome 80s dance vibe with a bit of a darker twist to it. I need to remind myself to watch the short film it's meant for. Swans -- Red Velvet Corridor I don't know, I just find this very disorienting yet kind of soothing at the same time? I've listened to the other songs on the album and they're nice and crazy but I still keep coming back to this one.

Speaking of the early 90s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwtkDY33Tow Someone linked this in another thread and it's been with me since. Even if the lyrics are joke-y, this song has become my hellish earbug that refuses to leave. It's topped off by the fact that the beat is legitimately bumpin' and the video has that authentic 1990s feeling to it. As a person that grew up on R&B in the 80s and 90s, it's especially amazing...it doesn't hurt that I also wanna rock those sunglasses with the meander on the side.

"Africa" by Toto. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Exg_VRYfEz8 Out with some friends one night, my buddy puts this song on at the bar. Haven't heard it in years. Good times. Like a week later, I was in my college's bookstore and it comes on again. Later that day it comes on over the speakers in a drug store. Haven't been able to stop listening to it since. My girlfriend is getting annoyed.

Bloodfart McCoy posted:"Africa" by Toto. I'm of the opinion that it's. impossible to hate Africa by Toto. At first when you hear it you enjoy it ironically. Hey it's a bunch of white guys singing a song about the Serengeti and Mt. Kilamanjaro so how could you take it seriously. After you hear it enough though, I guarantee you'll be singing along with it if at all possible when it comes on. I bless the rains down in Africa indeed. EDIT: I completely forgot listening to this song until I heard it again today for the first time in almost a month. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOdwSquHorw Mayer Hawthorne - Designer Drug RedneckwithGuns has a new favorite as of 08:13 on May 9, 2013 |
