Most funny people you see on TV earned there stripes doing inprov. Amy Poehler and Rob Riggle are two of my favorites. Here's one bit, but the whole thing is fantastic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4HTxmqNTCY&feature=player_detailpage#t=1339s and most of what you see on Parks & Rec and The Office is probably improvised: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeQssS61_mg

This is not true. Hell even the final episode of the Office had a restrospective that aired before the episode and they specifically addressed how many people thought it was improvised. The reality is that while, from time to time there might have been some improv that made it in, the majority of everything was meticulously scripted.

Yeah here is Amy Poehler talking about it. at 1:15 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ISkJuTUpJI I'm sure they do a lot of takes of each scene. I once had a dvd of raw Arrested Development footage and each scene had about 20 takes. It made me never want to be an actor. actually they talk about this in that video as well around 4:20 It's weird hearing Chris Pratt saying he does so many takes when it doesn't come off that way. It's always been great but I've never seen a good cell phone video on the web or anything. They did however do a taped special a while back, and here it is if you'd like to watch it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4HTxmqNTCY I wish they would do more of those. I was afraid I would be watching horrible life altering tragedies, but a good half of them is a jackass wheelie-ing at 60mph into a parked car/another jackass.

I hope it's acceptable to ask this thread for help tracking down a video? A few years ago there was a stylized video of scientific footage of the sun, and another of the stars. The footage was monochromatic, and edited together to have kind of a spooky, fast-paced mood. The audio might have been generated from the visuals? I thought the one of the stars was called "Dark Rain," or something similar, but I haven't had any luck with Google. Does anyone have a clue what I'm on about? Edit: Ah shoot, that's why. It's on Vimeo. http://vimeo.com/3921306
