Not too long ago a memeber of the speedrun community found an exploit as part of a change to their API. He tested it for the purpose of fixing it on SRL's end, and was banned. e. Also when they first added turbo you could send any color code as your selection for chat name instead of only the ones available with the sliders they give you, resulted in lots of people who thought it was SO HILLARIOUS to type in chat background grey.

Just went by word of mouth when that partnership deal was struck rather than checking out the actual facts, figures it was all told wrong back then.

Oh god, I thought that was just me. It doesn't help that there's little-to-no indication that you're logged out until you actually try to start chatting. Especially if you're on the new twitch pages in which case I don't think there's any indication at all!

I assume they set the cookie to expire early. I hate that if you log in to spam Kappa in the chat, the page refreshes and you get to see yet Galaxy S4 ad where it has the phone call, the baby crying, the Siri voice, and a bunch of farting.

Lots of people who get burnt out on their main game will end up just quitting runs all together. Though someone like Garri is the kind of dedicated speedgamer who will never really give up a game for good. Nero took a huge break after sm64 broke his heart, then when he came back it only took another couple weeks for him to stop doing runs again, now he does his thing all over MegaMan x2 and its fantastic to watch. Hell Siglemic has been practicing up Super Metroid as a way to keep his mind off Mario for a while, it should be fun to see if he gets on WR pace in that.

Star Fox 2 was done by Argonaut Games, like the first title. Star Fox 64 was almost done by Nintendo EAD internally, and they didn't want the two competing.

The Sharks are doing another speedrun/art marathon just like Sea Wizards last year. June 27th-July 1st, starting in about 36 hours from this post, at 6PM PDT(UTC-7) and 9PM CDT(UTC-4). A new trick in OoT has brought the Any% time under 20 minutes. It involves falling into a load-zone on the same frame as you enter a fall-zone in the castle escape sequence. The trick skips the Stalfos fight and the majority of the castle escape, and looks as insane as it sounds. The basis for the trick was discovered a few weeks ago, and people were looking for ways to do it by hovering off of falling rocks with some success but no reliable setups and a lot of RNG. A few days ago someone found a way to do it by sliding off of a falling rock instead of hovering in a TAS. And so sockfolder found a semi-consistent setup on console, and nedeahs(aka pydoyks) improved his any% run. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWYOcVEjX20 OoT runners are amazing.
