You can't crit during a Cross Hit.

Yes, and it doesn't matter at all, because the improved benefits from additional hits + building you XP meter over 100 far outweigh what you could do with critical hits.

Enemies in PXZ come in two shapes: "You can kill them in one attack" and "You can't kill them in one attack." If you can't kill an enemy in one attack with cross hits, you're extremely unlikely to do so with just criticals. If you can, then you're basically able to do it with either. Damage-wise, building up XP to do a super or multi-attack (or occasionally use a skill) is always more worthwhile that a critical hit.

Could any NA goons part with their Shin Megami Tensei IV registration code? I've registered Fire Emblem and wouldn't mind getting in on the promotion. I could work out a deal with you.

Also, EU goons: I have a code for 500 Nintendo Points for use on the Wii Shop channel for Wii/Wii U or on the DSi Shop for DSi. Does anyone have any EU/NA club reg codes/cash/sexual favours they would exchange for it?

As for ones on retail, what're SMT: Soul Hackers and Code of Princess like?

I'm pretty underwhelmed with Soul Hackers, the dungeons are long and dull, plot is all over the place and voice acting (Nemissa aside) bad.

The game mechanics are pretty outdated too, since the demons don't level up but instead consume macca for every step you take in a dungeon and the humans seem really overpowered compared to the demons, the best way to play is without demons (and only summon them for bosses), otherwise they just end up eating damage forcing you to heal them, or get instakilled by the various save or die spells.

For the record I'm a fan of Strange Journey, Etrian Odyssey and Devil Survivor games so I normally don't mind dungeon exploring or demon summoning.

I thought I was in the same boat (loved DS, was considering getting the Overclocked version), but I just realized I had no idea there even was a DS2. Is that pretty rad? Does the Overclocked version have a (European) release date?

DS2 improves the mechanics but also ups the anime levels. Neither version has a European release date as of yet but DS2 is a DS game so you could just import it.

I'm having the damndest time trying to find a decent case for my new XL. Bought some piece of poo poo in a local B&M, my games keep flying all over the place. So now I'm turning to the internet, amazon, play-asia, wherever. What are some good cases people are using?

My only requirements are that it fits properly, has a fairly neutral design (no giant pikachus please) and has slots on the inside for bringing a few game cartridges. I don't need room for a charger and all that poo poo.

This one is quality, as long as you're packing a backpack or such. It's not pocket sized by any means. I haven't found any that are small, fit an XL, and also hold a few games usefully, which is sad.

That looks excellent--I don't really think the XL itself is pocket sized anymore, anyway. Usually I just chuck it in a backpack, cargo pocket or huge inside pocket of my coat. So, thanks!

Crits give you bonus damage and, more importantly, bonus experience. Each crit gives you +5% exp at the end of the battle. Keeping the enemy in a perpetual Cross Hit gives you absolutely nothing. There are no "additional hits", solos and supports do the same damage regardless of when you pull them out and having more than 100% XP becomes basically completely pointless once most of your units have 4 attacks + solo. Incidentally, that's also the point where specifically trying to build up XP becomes extremely silly, because you get enough to use specials pretty much every other attack anyway.

I'm also interested in this, but with giant pikachus. I've got this old one that works very well, fits an XL with room for tapes and a small phone/ipod but it's rather bulky.

Link's Awakening is great. It's my favorite Zelda personally.

Mario Land is meh. It's not bad I guess but it's barely a Mario game.

I hope he didn't care about that pizza.
I played it on the VC a few months ago for the first time in over a decade and it's still my favourite Zelda game. The setting is unlike any other and the gameplay is more like Link to the Past where there isn't a gimmick they're going for, just fun items and puzzles to use them on. Totally worth it if you're just not stoked about the other prizes.

Since i might be getting a 3ds later this year... is there any kind of 3d youtube/movie support for it?
I don't play much videogames anymore, but i'd really consider getting a 3ds just so i can watch the occassional 3d movie trailer or short flick on youtube, in addition to a bit of gaming on the train.
(Oh and i mean relatively simple/user-friendly ways of watching 3d content with it, nothing involving reencoding)

You can get Netflix on it, but there's no 3D stuff on there. The only 3D video comes from Nintendo Video and the eShop.

The first Yu-Gi-Oh game for the 3DS has been (finally) announced. Based on apparently new series I never heard of called Zexal (no cardgames on motorbikes) and coming out in Japan during Winter.

The last one that came out on the old DS was rather good. I hope they keep up the quality.

I'm a huge fan of Super Mario Land despite it being really short and weird and all. That being said, get Link's Awakening, it's really the better deal of the two since you get a lot more game out of it.

That also being said, everybody should give Sakura Samurai a try, it's really fun.

I'm probably going to use it for a wiiU title, and if I have to use it for the 3DS it will fill its intended purpose and be used as DLC. For some reason I love digital downloads and was delighted at the idea of the 3DS getting them when I bought animal crossing. I find I miss having the game as a cartage :v: I buy my 3DS titles physical, at least I can always sell them this way.

I don't own a single wiiU title that isn't digital though! I think I just hate discs.
