Is there a way in ModOrganizer to just automatically reprioritize everything while it's sorted alphabetically? Obviously I'd still then go and move the important stuff around as far as conflicted files go but I've got this whole middle-ground wasteland where it's impossible to find what I'm looking for because it's in a random order.

The only thing that matters is the load order column. You can organize it by alphabet or whatever and it won't change anything. Sort it by load order, put it the way you want it to load, then you can sort it however you want after.

OK, I guess that works, thanks.

Another question: So Lootification wants you to have cleaned leveled lists for mods so that it can distribute lootified mods by the vanilla leveled lists and not throw the relative rarity off by a sudden influx of steel swords or whatever - if I make a merged patch and then just opt not to bash the weapon/armor plugins into my bashed patch will that have the same desired effect?

So my load order would be:

-Immersive Armors.esp
-Armorizer.esp
-etc.
-Merged Patch
-Bashed Patch (only bashing the Bethesda records and Morrowloot or Skyrim Unleashed)
-the Lootification esp

Or would having those populated leveled lists in my load order at all end up affecting the lootification process instead of the bashed lists?

edit: yeah I dunno combing through the mod comments it seems like there's a pretty high chance of getting naked people running around maybe I won't bother

I've never used a bashed patch now that TES5edit exists.

Load up all your item mods or anything that changes lists.

Run TES5edit

Merge a patch.

Run lootification.

Make sure your merged patch loads before lootification.

Load in the rest of your mods as BOSS dictates (make a custom rule for your merged patch)

I run with 147 mods and I don't have naked people (or crashes related to mod conflicts)

My boy says he can eat fifty eggs, he can eat fifty eggs!
So I installed Quietcool ENB, and the game looks better than I ever thought it could. Problem is, I can't get used to the framerate drop enough to run it full-time (constant 60 FPS without ENB -> usually 30, rarely 15 with ENB). Turning it off, there are a ton of effects I miss but what I miss the most is the more vibrant color palette.

Is there a mod that adds the color saturation or similar without all the intensive graphical processing of an ENB?

I might update my graphics card for this. Man Quietcool looked good.

The visual modding portion of the OP has one called Imaginator, which lets you change several options ingame.

Thanks, I'm looking really hard at SweetFX right now actually, I think I'm going to install it when I get home. Assuming the performance loss is nonexistent/less than ENB, it sounds like the happy medium I was looking for.

EDIT: Sweet FX is absolutely perfect. For settings I'm using this, it's on the nexus too. I turned the Vibrance setting down a little bit because some of his screenshots were a little too cartoonish-high-fantasy, but other than that it plays PERFECTLY with ELFX and makes all of my texture mods look absolutely gorgeous. And I get a constant 60 FPS, there is no noticeable performance loss whatsoever. It's not quite as good looking as Quietcool ENB was (the color palette is, but the effects/shadows are not), but I'll take 30 extra frames any day. And the new SPERG is great too!

It's a good time to get back into Skyrim.

All of the lighting mods seek to do the same thing but provide different lighting levels in different cells based on the author's preference. It's hard to really call one better than another. Personally, I switched to ELFX from RLO when I made a new game and like it better. Never tried Relighting Skyrim.

I'm currently using RLO, ELFX is perfectly fine too but had issues for me where suddenly rooms would completely change their lighting if I walked around large light sources like fires or looked at them from the wrong angle, it was way to jarring.

Synthwave Crusader

I used RLO with ELFX back when they had compatibility, but then RLO started feature-creeping by adding statues of Mara (:psyduck:) as light sources in totally weird locations so I just switched back to ELFX by itself. It makes Dwemer ruins look a lot creepier.

ELFX + CoT (without any interior modules) + Dark Dungeons for ENB + ENB is a really decent setup.

Thanks, guys. I'll be sure to check out the other mods too. I haven't heard of ELFX before.

Anyone ever had this issue where the ENB turns itself off when you enter/exit/fast travel? As soon as I have a loading screen, when it's loaded, I have to press Shift+F12 to turn it back on. Any ideas?

I'm using v0221 but I may have fixed it after playing with IgnoreLoadingScreen in enblocal.ini

I switched it to false and then true and now it seems to be sticking. I know ENB is enabled for sure with a small test, I Shift+Enter and if the brightness changes can be seen right then and there, I know it's enabled. I spent entirely too many hours on this, to the point of almost dropping the game when I was so excited to revisit it.

I ended up using :

- The Texture Pack Combiner along with Skyrim TPC for its GUI
- Got all the mods I could from The Texture Pack Combiner download list
- Climates of Tamriel base files (all those other options confuse me and they have 0 detail/explanation on the mod page)
- Phinix Natural ENB along with the recommended lighting mods (had to play with brightness and such as it was entirely too dark)
- Those Dark Dungeons thingies
- SkyUI

I first tried Season of Skyrim but I was getting 1FPS as soon as I looked torward Riverrun from the 3 buff stones after the intro. After hours fiddling with that I tried Quietcool ENB but it ended up looking way too cartoony after the initial rush of getting normal performance.

Now, playing the game is left so I know I like the changes. So far I liked it in the first dungeon and the few houses I entered. Once I've sampled more stuff I'll know for sure.

Yeah, IgnoreLoadingScreen was my first and only guess. Either way you seem to have fixed it so we'll leave it at that.

I'm having some trouble with ENB myself... running v0.221. If I'm remembering correctly, all I did was turn off bloom and set adaptive lighting to false. Unfortunately, my terrain starts glitching indoors, walls disappearing, sections of ground vanishing (but still walkable) when I look certain ways. If I turn even a little it pops back into vision. Turning off ENB fixes it completely. Could it just be that I need to update my video driver maybe?

Uhh is the inside of the mouth a texture or a tintmask or..? The inside of certain female NPC mouths are blue and I can't figure out what would cause it. The only result on Google is some female body retexture which I don't have installed.

I mean it must be a script right because what texture replacer would have a blue mouth for no reason?

I would say so.

However, I would go ahead and add the following as well (you can find most of these in the OP):
-Weapon and Armor Fixes
-Smithing Perks Overhaul
-Complete Crafting Overhaul
-Stealth Skills Rebalanced (pick up the base version, not the full version)
-The Choice is Yours
-Timing Is Everything
-Trade And Barter
-Run For Your Lives (and When Vampires Attack if you have Dawnguard)
-SkyTweak
-Convenient Horses

Those mods I just listed are fixes and tweaks to vanilla gameplay aspects (and most of them are made by the same person!), and are really very unintrusive. If you want to expand on stuff like magic I recommend picking up both Thunderchild and Dwemerverse, which happen to be made by the author of Apocalypse. If you feel like the loot system is too easy, you can always pick up Morrowloot (or it's other variant, Morrowloot - N'wah Edition). After that it's all up to your own preference.

BBJoey

You'll want to load them before SPERG, so that SPERG can then come in and implement its own changes (I think. I'm not too sure now that SPERG has switched over to an ESM format). Maybe seorin can tell you. (Paging seorin to the thread again!)

The esm placement shouldn't matter because the only things in it are either unique or duplicated in the esp. The esp should go wherever the old esp went to make things work nicely. That contains the parts that actually override other changes, like the perk trees or a few individual perks.

Thunderchild is great, but I ended up having to cheat to get some of the "mini-games" to work. Getting to the tip-top of the Throat of the World is a huge pain (tcl all the way!), and even after being rescued by Kyne after jumping off a mountain, I still died (tgm for that) . They're cool ideas, though. However, I can't for the life of me get the pillars of the voice to appear. The author says to wait 31 days, then stop, reset, and start the quest in the console, but that doesn't work. Anyone else had this problem and fixed it?

Posting from my phone so I'm not sure if it's in the post you linked, but STEP is a fantastic starting point for modding that will make your game look/sound prettier without changing the vanilla gameplay. Then you can come in and add whatever gameplay overhauls you want, e.g. SPERG. I just did a similar re-boot of my Skyrim folder and STEP got me 80% of the way through it.

You guys are talking about load order and I didn't really pay any attention to that so now I'm also wondering if some of the HD/HQ mods I'M using aren't working correctly because I have the wrong load order.

If I can use the mods you guys recommended for the Vanilla+ experience without screwing my save, what is the easy way to know how to set everything up in the load order?

Sounds like the mod is generally buggy for you, because I had none of those problems with the pillars and the jumping off cliffs, Kyne saves me very reliably there. Got any other mods that might be conflicting? Maybe tried to run BOSS over it?

You should be fine.

The best and easiest way is to let BOSS sort the load list out, then if you have to, make a merged patch and a bashed patch.

Nah, my load order is pretty trim and I run BOSS like a fiend. I know that others have had problems with jumping off high spots and the pillars not appearing, though. I've been saved by Kyne, but when I was slowly dropped down I died when my feet hit the ground, as if the game still thought I was falling. The author pretty much wrote off the pillars, though, saying that it's a small part of the mod and he's not going to make the mod a conflicting mess by planting them throughout the game world normally, which is understandable. It's a great mod, but those two issues seem to be reported regularly in the Nexus mod thread.
