There's an interview with Ronan online someplace where he addresses this and says something like "yeah we get that a lot, but we're not religious." You really could mistake them for a Christian band on a few of their tracks though.

In the late 90's there was some kind of christian death/black metal movement. I bagged groceries with a guy who was in a christian death metal band... his favorite band was Cradle of Filth, had shoulder length dyed black hair... it was confusing.

So I saw Velvet Acid Christ last night. I thought with all the serious-rear end music and the corpse paint that he'd be all serious business, but he wasn't at all. The light show was pretty impressive for a 12 dollar ticket.

Yeah, when he came out looking like some kind of juggalo Giorgio Moroder I got a little worried, but he actually seemed like a pretty cool guy (the response he got for talking about the Denver Broncos was hilarious). My experience has been that most of these guys just come out and play songs, maybe yell some angry stuff, and rarely introduce the band, so it was a refreshing surprise to see someone who knows how to work a crowd. I didn't even mind that he kept having to gently caress with the equipment, because every time he had to stall for time he'd usually say something hilarious. I got a little sick of the Asylum 13 promoter not shutting his trap, though. I went to one of their events in Wilmington, and I don't really think I'll go back (though, in their defense, $5 for a PBR tallboy and a shot of Jameson got me pretty hammered).

That's weird I've been listening to a lot of old VAC recently. One of those artists that got me into the genre, don't half appreciate it when he's not whining. I actually think I'd love to see him live, nice to hear that it's a good show if I ever get the opportunity!

ALOTOCB is interesting, 100% Is **it has been one of my favourite PWEI songs so it's nice to have a proper recording of that, and Talent plus Attitude equals Dollars is the kind of song only they could pull off and not have it sound cheesy. Also it's nice to know that even with lyrics Zero Return is still the worst song they've ever done.

This is the best day because  ALL-NEW LAIBACH MATERIAL OUTTA NOWHERE!Apparently there's a new album, Spectre, coming out in February, and a four-track EP, S, should be available right now for download on the the official site, but unfortunately it doesn't seem like they expected so many people to jump on the material so the site's currently totally overloaded. Luckily the EP is available on Spotify as well. This is... some really cool and pretty weird poo poo! The instrumentation is definitely very Laibachian, and Milan Fras is at his Milan Frasiest, but there's something about these tracks that make them sound really different from what I expected based on the Love on the Beat, Ballad of a Thin Man and Warm Leatherette covers, although elements of those tracks are still in. No History is more to my liking. Also Eurovision's "Europe is falling apart" gives me the chills every single time

Got the new VNV album and it's pretty good. After a first listen, it's not as good as Automatic, but I like it a lot more than Matter+Form, Judgement or Of Faith, Power & Glory.
