In final mix, they at least have different costumes in Christmas Town! Edit: I forgot that the music changed, too. Blackbelt Bobman fucked around with this message at 23:54 on Oct 26, 2013 |

Christmas Town was my favorite world in KH 2 just for Sora's utter excitement to meet Santa.

I wouldn't object to fighting Sephiroth in his weird bizarro god form in Kingdom Hearts III if only it means that I can later fight Caius "the most purple Final Fantasy character" Ballad at some point.

I was always annoyed at how Donald and Goofy get equal credit to Sora since all they do is haul around items for him while he does all the work.

Based on the number of times Goofy has thrown himself in front of a spell or knocked away a heartless with charge before I could hit them, I'd swear he's really their spy in Sora's party.

One thing I do hope is Donald and Goofy get better AI and are just more competent in general. I change the settings and all, but even then on the higher difficulties they don't really last long in a fight.

In my experience, Donald and Goofy are either dead, or off in the corner throwing potions at each other, doing nothing to contribute. It's funny how the games where you don't have party members don't feel any different at all combat-wise.

I find that Donald and Goofy do so little damage that they can't help but be completely irrelevant towards the end of the game when bosses have 20 HP bars and kill everyone but Sora in one hit.

They can still be semi-useful in the coliseum for giving you two seconds of breathing room against Cloud and Leon or whatnot. It's not that important, but it is notably easier than Sora alone (until you're hilariously over-leveled/equipped at least).

I used Donald all the time. I practically never used Goofy. Anything he could do, the character from the world could do, and Donald was usually pretty good when it came to keeping everyone from dying

Yeah, partners are alright in KH1 once you get the ball rolling (way further into the game). In KH2 they're only good for drives and limit breaks.

Yeah, even the world partenrs can be good in KH1. Arial had her unique heal spell while the Beast was just super strong and tear through the Defenders like they were nothing.

Speaking of partners in KH1, it was always such a dick move to make the world's unique partner so much better than Donald/Goofy, but require you to have those two for trinity marks. So many 'ugh guess I'll be coming back for that later' moments.

So many 'ugh guess I'll be coming back for that later' moments. Especially because in the pre-Final Mix game, Halloween Town had the one Trinity Mark in the game that you could miss permanently. And of course, I did miss it, because why would I be in Halloween Town without Jack Skellington in my party? And that's why I never got 100% completion. Because after I did everything else, I realized I was missing a red Trinity Mark.

He usually comes up with lore reasons to explain why his characters all look so similar though, such as Ventus and Roxas or Sora and Vanitas. I mean it wouldn't surprise me at all if he was making poo poo up as he goes along at this point but it seems like a similarity he'd have to consciously create.

Yeah, but Roxas was originally supposed to look like Sora except for his hair, which I think they retconned with BBS? You'd think you can't retcon something like that, until you realize it's really hard to tell with the art style just how similar two characters are supposed to look.
