Is there any dubstep song where the voice samples that they use before the drop are something horrifying, like sound clips of murders, that 9/11 phone call, etc? Been hunting around youtube for a bit but naturally it's hard to search for.

I need help identifying a song. I know I've heard it before and it's driving me nuts that I can't remember what it was called. You can hear it in the Claude Vonstroke-Whos afraid of Detroit(Munnibrotherz 2011 rework) track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Wb1nP2-Acc8#t=235 I'm pretty sure it came out around 2009 - 2010. I thought it was Reso, but it's not him. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Also Darkside/darkcore rave (92-3ish breakbeat stuff... Reinforced/Early Metalheadz etc). 31 Seconds by Andy C literally samples people describing near-death experiences (though it doesn't sound that dark overall). If it does, good luck, but check out those big Shambala Excision mixes from a few years ago and who ends up on those. I can't think of anything specific but it's probably a good starting place.

Guido's new album is streaming on FACT Magazine's site: http://www.factmag.com/2013/10/29/premiere-stream-moods-of-future-joy-the-new-album-by-bristol-producer-guido/ Listened to it a few times today, it's not as evocative as Anidea (which was peak to me) but it has its moments. I particularly like Heartful Dodger and Lucky Git.

Digidesign, Gully Brook Lane, Purple City, Tron, Do It, were all really amazing and original tunes that are highlights of the original UK dubstep scene for me! I agree, the problem with the album was that the vocals were bad, but the instrumental versions didn't have enough to them to work on their own either. Anyway, I think it's kind of neat that he's sticking with that 140bpm halfstep kind of sound even though it's become very, very unfashionable in recent years.

Having not heard that older Joker stuff since it came out, I seem to remember the vocal tracks annoying me as they had gently caress all in the way of a proper loving chorus. At least I think that's what I remember saying at the time. I talk bollocks though so who the gently caress knows. Wonder if it came out a year later if he could've ridden that Jessie Ware hype. Still at least he got some sweet publishing money from Universal either way. Liking the sound of this new stuff too. Things I've been digging this week: Hodge's new release on Punch Drunk, with the b-side Prototype Fear doing it for me, while the new Souleance EP on First Word is Boogie-licious.

Totally with you on all of that- those tracks were incredible when they were coming out (and I think they aged better than most of the half-step 140 stuff) and I really wanted the album to all be on that level. Actually, thinking about it, the new EP sounded much fresher than I thought it would considering he's still doing the 140 thing. Most stuff in that sound just sounds so dated to me, even if its only been a few years. 28 Gun Bad Boy posted:Having not heard that older Joker stuff since it came out, I seem to remember the vocal tracks annoying me as they had gently caress all in the way of a proper loving chorus. I'm kinda glad he missed that wave, come to think of it- I didn't hate the Let Me Breathe instrumental but if I was hearing it as much as the Disclosure stuff this year that'd change pretty fast. Plus if the crossover thing had gone well we might be listening to previews of his upcoming Disco/Deep House EP instead.

Feeling that new Mario Ting and Mr. Miyagi. Joker's Do You remix is super cool. Hearing him drop this in a dingy little basement club circa 2009 is still one of my best concert experiences. GET MONEY posted:Piling onto the purple chat, I heard this Lockah joint for the first time last week and it gave me the same vibes: Donkey Pitch has had a couple of other cassette releases out this year that you may like actually. Speaking of Donkey Pitch they've got a new EP by Ghost Mutt that's just out. It's an appropriate label/logo too, as the EP is a pure loaded Buckaroo of goodness. Breaks and Jungle, hyperspeed whacked out twisted funk and soul, some Grime influences, the whole shebang. Another groovy new release is out on the ever reliable Civil Music. Not content with that Om Unit LP from the other month, this time they have lined up Jon Convex for an EP. A heavy weight slab of pulsing Techno-Bass. There's an excellent dBridge remix on the flip too who delivers a cavernous half-step industrial (small i) number. And I know I can be a bit down at times about the current London House sound, but I tell you what I hear stuff like this Arun Verone set from Club Union and it reminds me if it's done right (produced, or mixed right like in this case) then it can sound really good. Still want to knock that pitch up a couple notches though, bit more speed.

Hey I've got a UKG track ID question, it was from the DJ Haus Garage Hour on Rinse today, around 18 minutes in. It's a pretty straight forward 4x4 tune with organ trumped and square bass that samples this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GKeBGBrc8o (Another Level-Be ALone No More) but way pitched up: "No I know,/You wanna be alone" "I feel the same" "and I'll always love you" "It hurts so bad/when I can't hold you". Anyone know what it's called?
