Hah, he really has filled out. Did it take him long to get use to a harness, or did he take to it instantly? I've thought about getting my kitty one, but I just have this mental image of her falling to the floor like a petulant child attempting to "dead weight" it.

He did have a little difficulty at first because I think it threw off his balance. But now he loves it. Even to go to the vet. I did get him a dog harness since I wanted something that would really hold him. And of course there were cooler fabrics to choose from so he has a lime green one with skulls and crossbones. You know, cause he's a badass.

I ordered some of D8's awesome last week. When it arrived both Bingley and Archie were all over the box. So I took the bag out to save for later and gave them the box. Bingley enjoyed it. A lot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP78nZR61rI

So this is the current favorite spot in the morning. A little morning sunshine and he can supervise me getting ready for work. I put the bed/cushion thing from his carrier there to make a little more comfy. Nooooooo, I don't spoil him AT ALL. And he has also decided that this is the best way to use the cat tree. Making what I call his Monkey Face here.

I wonder if that's not a general black cat trait, like how ginger males tend to be huge. Mine is a skinny little nine-pounder but he's like Bruce Lee, it's all muscle. It sometimes takes two male vet techs to hold him still if he's feeling uncooperative.

My old black cat was a big ol' blob of feline goo. Loved to eat, loved to flop all over things and people.

They have to use the remaining limbs more so those muscles build up. Of course he also runs around and plays like a little maniac which may be a contributing factor.

Yeah, I've got 3 black cats and not one of them is muscular. One is fat, one is skinny, and the other is somewhere in the middle. All of 'em squishy.

So I bought a new kitchen trash can this weekend. It's the kind that you step on a pedal and the lid opens. Turns out that Bingley is scared of it. So now I have an easy way to get him out of the kitchen when he's being a pest. Just walk over to the trashcan and open it. Who'da thunk it?

He's scared of it for now, just wait until he learns to operate it. At 3am. To demand food. Speaking on black cat builds, mine is a stout 11 lbs while his tabby littermate is a lanky 14lbs. I've seen lots of black cats through my rescue and they all seem a little more... compact? It may be a trick of their fur or something.

What a little smush face! When I first got Higgs I thought he had been scratched because of the less furred spots on his face. I had no idea all cats had that and its just more visible on black ones!
