When DICE fixes one thing they break another. Patch came out for the Commander App and now it runs on my tablet! Had a blast playing that last night. But I also played Paracel Storm Conquest (a great map, btw) and though I did not crash, I had the SEVERE rubberbanding effect that others have mentioned in this thread the entire round. It was almost unplayable. Still got 4th on the winning team though.

Holy crap air superiority is a terrible game mode. Four minutes of game time, with most people going 0-2-ish. It's about equal amounts of time in the game and in the scoreboard/loading screens

Found another thing that is stupid as hell. Apparently the game doesn't track your spot assists. I've been spotting poo poo with the MAV constantly, but nowhere on battlelog or on the bf4stats does it show any spot assists. It actually shows 0 spot assists on bf4stats. Completely ignoring my 156 spotting ribbons, which means I have at least 624 spot assists. Minor annoyance really, but I keep checking my SAM and they were lower than I thought they should be, now I know why at least. Ah well, I'll keep spotting for y'all. Oh, and if we're in a game together, if you could be so kind as to throw down an ammo pack near me (but not right next to me, sometimes I exit the MAV and don't want to lose it) that'd be awesome

This appeared to be hosed on the EA master stats server. I'll raise the issue on the developer forum. Thanks for reporting. I hope they are tracking that and just failing to surface it correctly so you don't lose your history.

They really need to add Youtube support already. I had some amazing jihad kills last night and wish I could share them without posting them to facebook publicly. On the Altai Mountains or whatever, they had a support chopper that landed at C. I was on the back of a jihad dirt bike driven by my friend. They were repairing the chopper while capping. After they capped, everyone jumped back in and started taking off. I jumped off the back of the bike probably 50 feet from the chopper and my friend drove right under it. I detonated the C4 and my screen lights up with a multikill, chopper pieces flying everywhere, and my friend flying 3 miles ahead and landing in the mountains somehow.

Is there anyway to force a new squad so that you can be squad leader? I had gamedotdll playing with me a couple games this morning before I went in to work, and even though I didn't have my mic plugged in, we got a ton of points and ace squad simply because I knew how to give squad orders early and often. I really hate being stuck in a squad where the squad leader won't do anything, won't listen and just gives up free points. Unlocking stuff is tedious enough as is.

Playing with 3 other people we could not get in games using the quick match at all, it would just hang on a black screen. We were able to get in by using the server browser though, but we also ended up crashing a ton more, like every 2ish games instead of every 4 or 5 on average and everyone would crash instead of 1 or 2 people at a time.

People get so mad at you for using AA in this game, it's pretty hilarious. I gently caress around with putting SLAMs on boats/jetskis and ramming people constantly on Paracel Storm and the only messages I get from people are people laughing (and then generally trying it themselves) even if I do it all round. If I hop in a mobile AA for a round of Golmud and throw down that support item that blows up rockets, I am basically guaranteed to get an angry message from a Skygod calling me an unskilled AA noob, never mind the fact that 95% of my kills are with infantry. I do agree active radar missiles are overpowered right now (and I actually feel somewhat bad for enemy helos because there isn't really much they can do to not die) but it's funny how mad Jet Pilots get at not being invincible for once.

I find the scout helos to be much better than the attack ones for some reason. Maybe it's just aiming the rocket pods, but it never feels like I can reliably hit anything more mobile than a stationary battle tank. Also, after what attack helos did to me in Bad Company 2, I feel no regrets about hopping in an AA on say, Lancang Dam, perching just behind a low hill near the river, and annihilating every enemy chopper starting the moment they take off

I think attack helicopters definitely need a boost somehow, either with a shorter counter-measure timer or bringing back gunner flares. Scout helicopters, while loving annoying at times, are fine when someone is repairing you, and are bearable if someone locks you down and you're flying engineer if you repair yourself. It's annoying when one person decides to lock you down in your spawn, but I don't see DICE changing the mechanics that much.

Go Engineer, use carbines til you get the AKU-12 and stick with it and rocket launchers til you get the SRAW. Play with friends or try to find a decentish squad somewhere. Finally, think about your actions and feel free to hide around buildings and setting up ambushes instead of just running into death over and over.

Relax scrubs, the champ is here. Some (dumb) people like to throw around the 'waah u just want to be invinceable rite' trope, but the reality is that good players (specifically, good vehicle players) just want to know the amount of effort put into killing them with a weapon was on par with the amount of effort they put into the vehicle in the first place (which is basically how games have existed since inception, the whole concept of this easy mode poo poo in a competitive, supposedly skill based game is fairly recent). You get what you give, essentially. Obviously this kind of balance is so hilariously skewed right now, to the point of not even existing. Many proponents of lock-on weapons are capable of admitting as much. If you want more insight into what a jet pilot thinks, ask Nicko, he is the jet player. The situation is this among good/vet/competitive players: Jet and helicopter pilots don't even bother to fly much at the moment, because the game is hilarious broken for those vehicles, many have gone back to BF3 or switched to other vehicles. Tankers probably wouldn't be playing either, if it wasn't for APS (which gets broken more each patch, it seems). Most are still pretty pissed because of poo poo like the LAW, and would rather see it removed. Infantry spergs love it (though most good ones admit air vehicles are bad poo poo), but it doesn't really matter because they'd be playing OP Locker all day anyways. edit: i think he means premium? not sure, but randy's opinion doesn't matter until he starts working for his money, sorry lols Someguy fucked around with this message at 02:57 on Dec 14, 2013 |

SLAM's apparently don't do poo poo anymore. Hitting a tank with 3 got me a mobility kill  If you could design a helo that could take 4-5 stinger hits before exploding, you'd have a license to print money. If anything, stingers/IGLA/etc need to be buffed. I'm even more frustrated than I was in BF3.

I can't always play with goons because I can never use my speakers while using voice chat. So I'm stuck using some crappy earbuds for sound which annoys the hell out of my head after 5 minutes. Same with any headset.

I don't get the default layout of the helo sticks. Maybe it's just me, but it feels so much more intuitive to have the left stick make me go up, down, left, and right, while the right stick points me.
