God drat the MAV /SOFLAM glitch is fun as hell. It got to the point where the enemy deploy had all their vehicles stuck there due to instant javelin death from 6 engineers if anyone deigned to get in.

This. I swear the larger the bullet you use in this game, the more hits it takes to kill infantry.

Maybe 4 hits at point blank range. The damage drops off quite a bit I think.

They seem to have fixed a lot of issues in the last patch, minimal crashing and emblems finnally showing up on weapons and uniforms and vehicles> There are still some issues though, like having your helicopter shot out of the sky and hearing the missile lock on noise after your helicopter is a burning ball of metal.

The answer to all things loadout related is Battlelog.

Is it any more stable after the last patch? I'm Sangre Yakuza if anyone needs an XBro in the Bone Zone.

You really need to be in a squad with a recon and some wizard balls or the TUGS. Get him to drop them near a dense conflict point then bomb the poo poo out of it. You're sure to get some kills, but freaking out the enemy so your friends can kill them is the major benefit. People tend to panic when the world suddenly explodes.

The Soflom on the secondary tank is pretty worthless since no one uses the lock on, but it's pretty funny when people start bailing out of a chopper when you have a lock. Also, the second grenade launcher unlock is amazing in Locker. You're guaranteed several multi-kills since people get so packed together in certain places.

Alright, that makes sense. It didn't seem like it'd be a good tool for flying solo aside from saturating a specific area for the heck of it.

Another question: How do you use LMGs? More than once I aim at a guy and go full-auto and never hit him (like I do with every other weapon and succeed at doing). The reticle is square on the guy but 90% of my shots miss. When I'm killed the enemy usually has 50% or 75% health and all it takes is a quick burst-fire from their weapons (not LMGs) to kill me. What is going on and/or what am I doing wrong? This is the default LMG too, so the rate of fire is slow as poo poo so it shouldn't cause the spread I am experiencing.

It took me a really long time to get a mortar kill. I ended up getting one on hardcore dom. Everyone is clustered up on flags so I just spammed hot areas with it. Hardcore is easiest because of the damage.

Wait for the mortar reticle to close back up before shooting again, resist the temptation to rapid fire. Its pretty strong, easy to kill stationary targets with.

Well if you want to maximize kills with it go to a China Rising map and shoot rounds at the bomber trailer door :mmmhmm:

Don't sit there waiting for mortar shells to respawn. Fire off a barrage and go back to what you were doing.

Don't bother trying to hit moving targets, at least not until you get real good with it. Generally use 2-3 rounds per target (let the reticle refocus at least a little between them) and fire directly into the middle of the triangle.

Be aware of elevation differences; for the most part if they're not on a tall building or large hill the rounds will land right where you target. If they're significantly higher up than you you'll notice they land significantly short of the target. If you're trying to take out someone on top of a tall building (the short ones like in Paracel Storm don't seem to make much of a difference) aim past it a bit and take 2-3 shots to adjust.

Also be aware that someone might be inside of a building. So if you land a shot right on it and don't get hit marker they're probably under some cover.

Mostly just remember it's not really effective against everything; mostly snipers, rooftop campers, and clumped up groups of enemies. Use it when you see those opportunities and do something else when you don't.

I think the hit detection is awful, and there's some glitch that bullets will randomly do triple damage. I'll get tons of hit markers with the machine guns with no kill, but they have enough time to turn around and kill me with a single round from a pp2000.

Mines are persistent after your death, but c4 is not. I feel like I'm in al Qaeda when I plant mines on transport vehicles. It's also a great feeling to get a slam kill on someone who's just teabagged you with their LEET PVP SKILLS.

Silencer + mid range sight + stubby/angled grip is your key to success. You engage targets at mid, burst/maybe full auto and reap them. MGs are preeeetty bad up close but will drop people consistently even with a silencer outside that. And don't use it to clear people in heavy cover, that's why you have the XM25.

Stop, take a knee, aim, then fire. Three round bursts if you can manage it. You can't run and gun with LMGs as easily as the other classes.

They do pistol damage at assault rifle range.

Think I ruined a pubby's day, he could do nothing but camp in corners. Shot down his helo, SLAM'ed his vehicles, shot him off a dirt bike, hugged him on Mount Fuckabout on Altai Range. Only ever got me from hiding in shacks.

I fully expect a bug fix that won't allow SLAMs to be put in shallow water, it's just too easy.

Farewell, good Hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.

Could you guys help me with some good advice at how a novice can start playing this multiplayer on xbone? I've finished the single player campaign. I am wondering which map and kit I could begin with to get comfortable with the play mechanics and staying alive. My first exposure to the multiplayer side of this game was the dawn breaker large map and gently caress was I in over my head. The last time I played anything like this was bad company 2 on the PC. I've only played single player games on consoles and rarely first person shooters on a console (really the only one has been borderlands2), so I have a lot of learning to do to get good aiming. What are some basic actions I should be taking to stay alive, or roles I should be playing as a beginner to not be a moron? I remember in bad company 2 if I really just concentrated on capturing the objectives and let kill counts take a distant backseat I'd actually do pretty good point wise and help the team.

I was also wondering, those with this on the xbone, do you use the kinect leaning and head looking gestures? I found them to work surprisingly well in the single player campaign, especially the leaning around corners while aiming through the sites. The head movement one can error once in a while but is easily calibrated by switching quickly to 3rd person view and back. The ability to look around while flying without having to use one of the joysticks seems like it would be great during multiplayer. Do these functions actually work out for you guys then?

The head movement thing is a bit gimmicky but I leave it on and use it, it gets difficult in hardcore if it starts with you looking out the side window I end up jumping out and back in to fix as there's no third person button on HC.
My beginner tips would be defo read the op, play all the classes each round so you level up equally, expect to die a lot, but things improve when you get holo sights and grips etc, by the time you get used to one gun and get it all maxed out your back to the beginning with a new gun so don't automaticly be pressured into using the new gun because its unlocked.
And yes capture objectives, use the comrose to accept squad leaders orders and send out orders if your the leader, follow your squad, always spawn on your squad. Dont rush in. drop to knee track and burst. dont run after someone spraying full auto. When you start getting pissed off switch to hardcore, bullets kill people and you can sneak around more without worrying about being spotted and tracked down and hugged to death.

I've played around 10 hours now on the PS4 and I'm beginning to absolutely love BF. I'm still playing by myself yet until I'm good enough to play with goons but I'm really enjoying it.

However, I'm wondering what headsets people are using? I've spent a couple of hours looking at the different options (Pulse Elite, Skullcandy PLYR 1, Astros, etc) but there doesn't seem to be a definite option at all and once I start looking into the audiophile forums I begin to understand less and less of what is being said.

Is there anything resembling a definitive option yet? I'm looking at a max of around £150 I think. At the moment I'm just plugging my B&W P3s into the controller and I'd like something a bit better with a mic that works.

I've been through the first and last 4/5 pages of this thread so hopefully this isn't an irritating HI GUYS first second post
