New episode, with some farmer guy. I like his voice, and he seems to have some pretty sharp things to say about food.

Aww I thought that movement died out a few years ago. That's too bad. I hope he gets some more comedians in the next couple of weeks, Hannibal and Jeffries spoiled me.

The stuff about specific density of pork from more active livestock, deferred costs in the industrial monoculture type of farming etc were interesting. But it quickly went south into big government will put you in prison for talking about a Vega machine on a podcast, vaccines are bad, etc.

Kind of hard to take someone seriously when they say that socialised medicine only works in the rest of the world because they are allowed to use woo-woo acupuncturist machines to diagnose illness.

Ha ha. I'd love if Big Government could really put people in prison for talking poo poo about vaccines. A pile of rich soccer moms with zero common sense in prison would make for a great visual. I wish I was rich enough to afford fungus free butter coffee and raw milk cheese every day. That poo poo always sounds delicious until I realize it costs 3-4x what I can afford each week.

Duncans voice irritates me. When he talks, I picture an annoying bully kid from an episode of Leave It To Beaver.

I havent listened to any JRE episodes in many months, any good recent ones I should check out?

It's been good lately.

Duncan and DJ Douggpound was good.

Eddie Bravo, War Machine and Matt Sera podcasts are worth listening to if you're interested in gay karate.

Hannibal Burress and Jim Jeffries were good, genuinely funny guys in conversation.

Peter Guilano was some kind of coffee bean autistic and that was good if you like coffee.

Louie Theroux was on. Joe babbled about the JFK assassination for a bit, but if you like Louie there's a lot of great behind the scenes talk.

gently caress the Amy Schumer episode. Because of Joe butting in and confusing poo poo it takes Amy like 45 minutes to explain that she doesn't agree with Jerry Seinfeld's statement that 'what's funny is funny'. Because humour is subjective and people's perception of things are influenced by their experiences and prejudices.

Man, this podcast is really hit or miss (mostly miss) lately. Rogan just steamrolls everyone and rambles about the same topics over and over, especially in the Ohanian episode. He was outdone by Brendan Schaub in the latest episode, though. drat that guy is a moron.

Well, no, she was stumbling over her words all on her own. Joe wasn't necessarily helping matters, but he was clearly already on guard over the perceived comment, which makes sense for him. He wasn't sure if Amy was basically trying to call out Jerry for being racist over the statement.

The thing is, Amy Schumer didn't have an issue with anything Seinfeld did. The issue was mostly with the statement 'what's funny, is funny' given that comedy is subjective. But it took like a third of the loving podcast to get that distinction across.

It was not a good interview per se, but Amy and Joe just joking around with each other was super adorable so it kind of balances out.

The Louis Theroux episode was brilliant. You can tell both sides of the interview/discussion had things to bring to the table for a change. Louis is the best, hope to someday do some work like his own.

Brendan Schaub in recent podcast #486 is a very stupid man and it's worth listening to. Some gems:
- Joe "This study showed how humans seem to instinctively be afraid of snakes. It's in our genes." Brendan: "... OR! How about it's just that snakes are scary!" Joe: "... That's what we're saying. Only it's deeply imbedded -" Brendan: "No!"

- "It pisses me off when people don't like [want] kids... Give something back, you're put on this earth to procreate." and then he goes on a rant about how he cuts anybody who doesn't want kids out of his life because they must be selfish.

what was the deal with the bitcoin community showing their generosity? as soon as joe showed a bitcoin address money started flooding in (ie. bitcoiners giving bitcoins to rogan) and the guest was all "that’s the generosity of bitcoin" and then after he realiised he was getting a bit of money joe said he'd have to donate it to the guy doing charity work in the Congo. its as though there were people waiting and ready to just give bitcoins as soon as possible in some kind of setup?
also joe and redban really know their stuff when it comes to phones.

It is pretty funny, but he talks about archery for about twenty minutes so WATCH OUT for a man talking about his interests.

You've literally never had anything negative to say about this podcast. Are you an intern there or something? If he talked about bow hunting once it'd be one thing. He brings up the topic randomly and constantly now with guests who don't care about it. He even interjects his raw milk, psychedelics will save the planet, "Boston comedy was tough" rehashed poo poo when he has incredibly fascinating people in front of him with the rare opportunity to speak to them unfiltered. I enjoy the podcast from time to time, but if you think talking about bow hunting for 20 minutes with Dave Atell (when he's rambled about it for months now) is good or interesting I don't know what to say to you. His inability to not tread back to the same topics is becoming increasingly annoying. People always say he fills a lot of hours in a week so he might talk about the same stuff. Guess what, love him or hate him, when Howard Stern has an interview, he interviews the guest. Tom Scharpling from The Best Show did 3 hours every week for over a decade and would routinely talk by himself for hours without rehashing old material and when he did interviews they were fresh as well. If you can't figure out why hearing about raw milk for the 15th time when an interesting person is on the podcast is annoying, then you're pretty stupid. I find myself hitting the fast forward button more and more even when he has good guests on which isn't a good sign.

That happens to you often? My bad I typed out like six whole sentences. I like the show when it's good, It has a tendency to go bad, is that a hard concept to understand? That's why I only listen to comedians I like and MMA personalities as guests now.
