I have no idea then. That sounds really stupid and lame. I guess one last to try or suggest, have you tried using a different psn profile to load the game?

Was the Bioshock Infinite DLC worth buying or is it skippable? Also, would I get locked out of playing it until I finished the main game or anything? I originally played it on 360 when it came out, sold it and grabbed it when it was free for PS+, so I don't have a PS3 save game atm.

Just started Lightning Returns. I went in mostly blind (whoops) but assumed it would at least somewhat resemble the previous two games. This... seems like a terrible ripoff of Majora's Mask, and that game was aggravating as hell. Does this game get any better?

You end up having plenty of time, especially using the time stopping ability, so you don't have to worry about that gimmick too much. Whether you end up liking the game or not will depend on if you enjoy the battles. Look up the thread for the game for more/better tips.

...! posted:Does this game get any better? I, uh, actually kind of liked it in the end. You have to look past a lot - the costume thing and a lot of the early sidequests are really dumb, and the main plot is definitely better when not taken seriously - but in the end I had a blast of a time with it and the ending was actually really satisfying in a kind of oldschool cheesy-as-gently caress way. Bear in mind I like poo poo games though, so there's that.

I made a thread for it (http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3608747) which says basically everything I would say but: Time is seriously a nonissue in the game. It's a very plentiful resource and it's nearly impossible to run out. More specific tips are in the OP and that thread.

It's also easy as poo poo to get almost everything done in one play through. You don't unlock weapon and shield crafting until NG+ for some bizarre reason, so six of the trophies require a second playthrough, but you get given so much time to do all the extra content. In a way it's quite annoying that the game wasn't better paced because I found myself skipping the last three days just because I ran out of quests to do.

Austrian mook posted:So why do people like Assassins Creed 2 so much? In my opinion: It had a good combination of action and interesting story. Cities were made in a way that, at least to me, hasn't been seen in games at that time. Even though it was multi-platform, it was one of those games that showed off what a PS3 can do. It was the game most people got their first "legitimate" platinum trophy. From PS Store thread: ESRB just put up a rating for Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. The rep at Atlus teased a major SMT game coming out today on PSN. This could be it. Yechezkel fucked around with this message at 11:20 on May 6, 2014 |

So I don't know how or why, but my Persona 4 save got eaten up yesterday. I thought it was just an issue with emulation since my data was still on my HDD, but nope. NESguerilla posted:Was the Bioshock Infinite DLC worth buying or is it skippable? It really depends on if you liked Bioshock Infinite or not. If you hated Infinite, you're not going to love the dlc. Despite being set in Rapture, it's a story about Booker and Elizabeth that ties in to the storylines of both Infinite and the original Bioshock. I had a pretty good time with both episodes. The first episode has a really great introduction where you're able to walk around Rapture and see the area before the poo poo hit the fan. The game becomes less interesting when it shifts into a first person shooter again, but overall the first episode is paced well and ends on a pretty interesting note. The second episode actually changes up the gameplay a bit and focuses more on stealth and avoiding direct combat. The story is all over the drat place, but that's kind of par for the course. I felt that the second episode dragged on a bit longer than playing it was interesting, but it had enough interesting moments that I would recommend it also. I can't vouch for the PS3 version, but on PC, I was able to play both of the episodes of the dlc even though I hadn't played through the main game. It also has a separate save file, so you could have save games in the middle of Bioshock Infinite, Episode 1, and Episode 2 all at the same time. I ended up enjoying the dlc more than most of the main game. Episode 1 is reminiscent of the beginning of Infinite with a long open area without combat and episode 2 mixes up the gameplay in a way that really would have benefitted the main Bioshock Infinite campaign.

Rome kind of sucks in comparison with Venice or Florence or Constantinople but Brotherhood's strength lies in its strong linear mission design. There are more tombs than in 2, Leonardo's War Machine missions are great, and there's a lot of PoP-style platforming in the main story missions. I didn't care about the recruiting assassin's thing personally, Revelations actually fleshed that out into something worth investing in.

By the last third or so of the game, though, I had gotten really, really tired of all of the missions that required perfect stealth. I eventually started completing every mission by climbing the highest thing I could find, pressing the "send in all assassins" button, and waiting 15 seconds. I never finished the game.

I like AssCreed2 and Brotherhood about equally. I thought 2 had better writing and Brotherhood was more fun as a game. I'm also a sucker for games that are polished as gently caress, which those really are. So I guess I'm gonna play a soccer game for the first time ever tonight (Pro Evolution 2014). Here's the summary: AC1 is a glorified tech demo and should be avoided at all costs. AC2 is the true start to the franchise and stars the best character made last generation. AC: Bro takes everything about AC2 and improves on it. AC: Rev is solid, but lacks the innovation of AC: Bro. Still worth playing though if you want to finish Ezio's story AC3 is ruined by its boring protagonist. Just Youtube the story. AC4 gives us a good protagonist once again, along with an awesome pirate simulator.
