Definitely hitting Movement this year. I haven't missed a year since 2002 except for 2009 when I had leukemia…lol. I waited too long to book a hotel in Detroit proper this year, so we're gonna stay by the airport in Romulus. Its like a 10-15 min drive into the city, and the room is like $55 a night. The CLR after set last year sucked balls. The ones in 2011 and 2012 at the Elysium were OFF.THE.CHAIN. Hope they do something there again.

20 days! Gonna be fun!

If I was in town I'd be at the Villalobos set. Haven't seen him live but he doesn't seem to come to North America that much anymore so Id take advantage of that. I've seen Troxler a few times and he's been really good but not on the level Ive read Ricardo can be.

WHAT YOU SAY
Not sure why anybody thinks being crammed down there all weekend is a good thing. Last year was awful in my opinion and not just because of the sound. More than half the acts I wanted to see were down there and it took a solid 20-30 min to get in and get out every time I wanted to grab a drink or go to the bathroom.

Also some sort of diversity between the stages would have been nice, I mean the rest of the festival is pretty cool but I didn't spend much time at any of the other stages because everybody was at the underground.

I do the dark basement thing back home almost every weekend, a big stage and open air would be great.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8JBDDR5ebg

And I'm interested in all these posts about Movement-I'm in NYC, but I was considering going to Detroit because of how amazing the lineup looks. Though if it has a history of bad sound then I'm probably more okay about missing it. Sound is important.

only bad sound is at the Underground stage. like Firaga said that stage gets most of the techno bookings but I think its worth it for the other stages too. Also the after parties are great.

For me Movement is worth the trip even with some of its issues

Don't die on me little techno thread!

Movement was pretty great. I went to Interface/Scene on Sunday night and that was one hell of a party. Was a little pissed that I missed the hour or so of Sandwell District, didn't find out about it till after. :( No real complaints though, top quality sets all around. Sound wasn't so great at the underground stage at Movement itself but I guess it's as good as can be expected from that concrete box, and the atmosphere of it is pretty cool.

Inigo Kennedy's Vaudeville album came out and it's real good, here's a couple selections:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bAvgaoM_RM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcN-1gAcTTw

New Zahn is good too.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYVsAgIZobk

Guess I'm into a bunch of tech-trance bullshit lately but I've kind of had my fill of the dark soundscape poo poo I suppose. Kyle Geiger sets erry day.

Also, forgot to mention, gently caress that CLR party on Saturday.

Really enjoying it. I saw him live this weekend on a label party and it really killed.

If you like it check out their other stuff, including their own band bepotel:

Or one of the members solo project: sagat.
He got famous for a while because Ben klock was dropping one of his tracks a lot.

The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.
