Nothing explains Ansem, Seeker of Darkness though. Why does he look like that? Why the puffed out chest? Is he secretly Gaston?

Xehanort's Heartless is supposed to be special because he willingly gave himself to the darkness. What annoys me is that Sora doesn't have an equivilent since he also willingly gave himself to the darkness.

I'm pretty sure that's the canon reason.

Not the same and plunging headfirst into the Darkness while screaming about Darkness.

A lovely Shadow and that dark drive form that you get if you Drive Formed too much. Unless you're using the Final Form, in which it will never happen. Is there anything good about that form beyond being slightly faster than normal Sora? You can't even use the 'enter with a Drive Form to a room with a cutscene to see Sora wearing the Form clothes in the cutscene' glitch to make someone talk to a twitchy, dark Sora as if he's normal. toanoradian fucked around with this message at 06:05 on Jun 21, 2014 |

Riku's body got hijacked by Xehanort and he was mostly fine afterwards. Poor Terra.

That is because unlike Terra, Riku isn't a hilarious fuckup 24/7.

I dunno, Terra got mind controlled by Maleficent. Riku straight up decided to work with the rake-thin woman that dressed in black robes and devil horns and magiced up green fire.

Excuse me, I think you'll find that the current Disney canon is that Malificent was actually the hero all along.

Who is the most competent KH character? Sora is decently competent but he lost a lot of points in 3D. Eraqus was doing good until he got fragged by Terra the dummy. Xehanort has repeatedly failed and simply has a long string of backup plans. I guess it would be Aqua, whose competence seems to be possible in large part by how disinterested she is in literally everything.

Sora is himself, Roxas, Xion, Ven, and Vanitas, so even if you ignore the stuff that happens in DDD he'd still probably be worse than Terra. Mostly because of Ven and Vanitas, to be fair to Roxas.

Riku's also done quite well, he hosed up in KH1 and proceeded to simply deal with the poo poo that piled on him in all the games since.

That and Sora actually followed Ansem into the Realm of Darkness and defeated him there rather than falling into it alone, like Aqua.

Considering both Chain of Memories, KH2, and DDD was basically Sora being manipulated into the Organization's plans, I wouldn't exactly call him competent. It just happened to work out in the first two cases before DDD finally rectified that.

You can't really blame him all that much in the case of Chain of Memories. They pretty much were erasing his memories the whole time. And even then, he was still vehemently against the Organization.

I can't fault Sora for not wising up in 3D because that game's plot was total nonsense. Going through it I think I understood what was going on less than he did.

Mickey is awesome, but he's not competent. If he was, he either A)would not have completely left his kingdom behind and strolled off alone to fight the great evil or B)would have actually succeeded in beating the great evil without the help of a 15 year old boy. The only thing I can give him is that he knows more about what's going on than the main characters.

Kingdom Hearts 3 will allow you to play as three characters, befitting the title and taking a page off BBS: Sora, representing the original character donut steels, who later dies for our sins and you play as Riku for the rest of the game because the developers all love Riku for some stupid rear end reason; Mickey, representing the Disney side, who now complements his wide array of quick, dodge based attacks and powerful light magic with actual finishing moves; and Galuf, representing the Final Fantasy side, who relies on a heat gauge that builds as he takes and gives damage to unleash brutal, punishing attacks culminating in Berserker Risk, wherein he basically becomes Data Saix.

Anti-form cannot kill bosses, though it can rack up nonlethal damage very quickly with its fast attacks. Reaction commands aren't quite THAT important in most fights, but anti-form is also denied use of spells or items, so you can't heal. Hope you're good at dodging!
