They shouldn't make Lesnar invincible. A hot enough face (notably D-Bry) could pull the strap without hurting Lesnar, who's hard to hurt in general due to how purely intimidating the guy is and the quality of his non-chairfest matches.

His interview on Howard Stern where he admits to loving a 280 lb woman because he was dared to is eye opening to me. I'm not sure he actually has a soul. Which is a perfect fit for this company, because Vince McMahon doesn't have one either. He can wrestle though. Don't say he can't wrestle. John Cena can wrestle, but he what he can't do is empathize or feel emotion. John Cena is ether a robot or a psychopath. I'm leaning towards robot due to quick repair time and difficulty changing programing.

I'm holding out hope for Damien Sandow dressed as Goldberg (Goldow, or possibly Sandberg) to be the one to beat Lesnar.

I much prefer the idea of Lesnar showing up once in a blue moon and never being beaten. He's the guy everyone knows is legitimately the toughest person on the roster, he's been a monster in WWE since his first day and he's the guy who beat The Undertaker at WrestleMania, cleanly and definitively. It is absurd to have him lose ever again, other than perhaps to a multi-person beatdown with chairs and tables. And I like the idea of there continuing to be some sort of above-the-belt, omnipresent force now that The Undertaker is gone. Before, no matter who had the belt, no matter how good they were, they were always #2 behind The Undertaker at WrestleMania. Now they're #2 behind Brock Lesnar, whenever he shows up. That constant threat, the knowledge that there is always that bigger fish, is much more effective than the <4 weeks of moderate boasting that would result from someone like Daniel Bryan or John Cena pinning him.

Lesnar should absolutely not lose,or even look the least bit vulnerable until next Wrestlemania at the very least.

I actually turned off Raw last night after the Wyatt/Jericho segment (which was actually pretty good), and I don't normally do that. I thought the end would be totally predictable with Ambrose running off Rollins, and the rest of the 4 squaring off and brawling to end the show. But it sounds like it was a giant confusing clusterfuck with legit injuries. Also, I see it's back to business as usual with jobber Cesaro. I imagine he'll take yet another loss on Smackdown, win the IC title and proceed to never win another match for the next 6 months. Cromulent fucked around with this message at 13:47 on Jul 15, 2014 |

Coming out of Wrestlemania, Cesaro was hot and on the cusp of a face turn where everyone would cheer him for big swinging people. Now, months later, he's cold as ice and was dumped by his manager off camera and his former partner, loving JACK SWAGGER, is getting huge pops and turning face. I never would have called that one. I also really like The Miz Titantron thing because not only does it get him booed for turning off the giant glowing rectangle, but it seemed to actually force people to pay attention to the match in the ring if they wanted to know what was going on. There was actual crowd heat in a Miz/Sheamus match and it was fun! Favorite moment of the night was Lawler's pleading "Just sign up for the network!"

Has it been posted yet that Seth's injury was actually a work? How weird is that.

Daniel Bryan posted:Has it been posted yet that Seth's injury was actually a work? How weird is that. First thing I thought of last night was if Rollins is "injured" he can't cash in. Thus necessitating the presence of BRRROCKK LESSNAARR and requiring the authority to turn to Heyman to get the title off Cena. Assuming Rollins isn't actually injured. It could also keep building up Ambrose vs Rollins for Summerslam and they could try and pull in more network subscribers.

I do feel bad for anyone with a poor view of the ring, though. I hope they liked staring at Miz's face the whole time. How did the Eva Marie vs. AJ Lee match come across on television? From where I was sitting, it seemed pretty heatless.

I can only assume that they're jobbing Cesaro out thinking "oh well he's going to win the IC title so that will make him legitimate again!" You'd think eventually they would realize that their midcard titles don't give anyone any kind of rub, but here we are with the same booking we've had for ages.

Also, I felt like the only person trying to boo Cameron and Alicia Fox, hahah. flashy_mcflash posted:Yeah I was kind of sad that AJ was clearly working hard but the crowd wasn't buying it. AJ was absolutely trying and I felt bad for not screaming for her, but at the same time it was with Eva Marie and nobody cared. AJ at least got a pop for her entrance. The announce table bit at the end looked like nothing because we couldn't hear a drat word of it. We only got audio for backstage segments and ads. We wanted to help Dean. ![]() sunsweet fucked around with this message at 14:18 on Jul 15, 2014 |

If Rollins' injury really is a work, can we just declare him the greatest seller of all time now? Also I don't get the AJ/Paige angle, if they're going for insincere friends who secretly hate each other but are hiding it behind over the top civility, then why have paige declare that they're frenemies repeatedly? Isn't that kinda defeating the point of pretending to be friends if you just straight up admit that's not the case? Blasmeister fucked around with this message at 14:20 on Jul 15, 2014 |

The Miz would be a good guy to throw the IC title on for a bit, I think. He's definitely one of the several guys on the roster who could actually benefit from holding a midcard title. Throwing midcard titles on guys like Sheamus or Cesaro or whatever is pretty pointless. And I've always liked that DDT. Professor Funk fucked around with this message at 14:29 on Jul 15, 2014 |

The Sting promo and reaction was great. While last night may not have been meant to be a tease for him coming back necessarily, I'm hoping with that reaction both sides realize it should happen for at least one retirement match. Seeing how well done the promo package was, I can only imagine how insane his Wrestlemania entrance would be. The pyro and lighting effects that would go into a mania match with he and Taker would probably cause the power to go out in Santa Clara.
