So, I was at SGC 2014 this weekend, and although you probably don't care I'll tell you about it anyway, because "internet celebrities." vv First of all, I don't really give a crap about ScrewAttack itself (or even really understand what it is) even though it's their con. I have zero involvement in its userbase. "G1"? WTF is that? Seriously, I don't even know. Stuttering Craig himself seems to be cool , as I observed him talking to people. I'd heard tall tales before that he's a chode or something, but I saw none of that. Actually, there was zero such drama as what appears in this thread, even though some big company bought ScrewAttack recently. If there was dirt, it was in the ground and out of sight. ProJared was fired from ScrewAttack in the past? Well he was at the con like nothing happened. That's what I'll really never forget about this event: It seems as if ALL of the online personality folks I saw are really professional and gentlemanly. I can't think of any exceptions. They also look and sound exactly as you'd expect. I don't know why that surprises me, but it does. Actually I'm still kinda chuffed that some producers post right here; the shine never really wears off It's amazing how Angry Joe really is Angry Joe-- at least at cons. Uniform and all, like a drat superhero. I observed him from a distance a few times and he was gentlemanly and exuberant towards everyone he met. How can you honestly not like this guy? There are so many pictures. This is what he did during the con: a panel, and then endless posing, for 3 days. JonTron is super popular and gets mildly mobbed. People recognize him everywhere he goes. Here's a picture I took: The next day he powerwalked past me in a hallway, looking preoccupied, and I then heard some girl behind me go "JonTron! " Yet he's also nice to everyone. I like his videos but I never expected him to get so big and I didn't even know he was getting famous until this thread started talking about him all the time. It must be weird to be a huge star in one place, and then just some scruffy chubby guy everywhere else. But he's not as big as James Rolfe and Mike Matei. As you'd expect, everyone is nuts for AVGN, and the autographs line was 2 hours long. Some poor tween at their Q&A panel was so nervous he could barely speak! Relax kid, to "normal" people they're just a couple of nobody nerds. But yes, to us they're rock stars, so here's a picture I got after Pat the NES Punk's panel: Meanwhile, Pat (my favorite ), Brentalfloss, ProJared, and some others had own vendor tables just sitting there selling like normal guys. Pat (Contri) told me that he recently quit his day job to do Pat the NES Punk full time. I really hope that works out. He was very kind to me and I wish him well. Check out his stuff if you haven't: http://www.youtube.com/user/PatTheNESpunk Ema Nymton fucked around with this message at 01:10 on Jul 15, 2014 |

I was at ConnectiCon this weekend and it was fun. Todd, Lindsey, Nella, Elisa, Doug and Rob were the guests. Doug and Rob's QnA was a lot of fun. I think the two of them are very funny off the cuff. Best moments were Doug and Rob trying to answer questions while eating doughnuts and Lindsey sneaking up to the mic and telling Doug to get a new NChick because she sucked. The whole crowd went and didn't realize it was her.

Pat tweeted about SGC, so I looked at the guest list and figured it would be worth my time. And it totally was. SGC also has arcades and consoles on free play all the time, a vendor room (games and weaboo stuff). Lots of fun, and Dallas is a good city to visit. And people joke that Pat wears eyeliner, but he doesn't. He just has long eyelashes, dark hair, and a tan, so it looks like he wears it. He's born with it. :bigtran: dijon du jour posted:Question: was the Fanservice Fiesta guy there? Hmm, if it's this guy, he does look familiar... so many neckbeards look exactly like him. That...sounds like a much better story than Crimebuster meets He-She. At least the killer in that story was actually given a personality and motivation other than just "I'm evil and I'm a lame version of Belle Gunness.' It's a little bit like female characters whose being female is their sole character trait - but in this, being female and male (and evil) is He-She's sole character trait. Boy, what a surprise - a Poe story has better writing than a comic with a painfully annoying audience surrogate kid detective in it.

Nostalgia Critic, Linkara, Spoony, and Cinema Snob (passively) combine to review the glorious mess that is Bloodrayne I like the NC character, especially since his post retirement, but man his cross overs are fun. Especially with multiple people to play off of. I especially liked the way they addressed the whole Spoony leaving the site mess. By poking fun at it, they told the audience "Hey, we're over it, you do the same". Brad's continuing insane little story within the video cracked me up more than anything. "I have a thirst for blood!
