Not sure to be honest. My old hometown will apparently go to the Conservatives but I think that'll be more due to David Heath retiring. Which is a shame as I still fondly remember writing to him about the VCRA when I was younger and as an MP he always seemed proud of the local area. I also had huge respect for him due to his response to being "stung" by undercover journalists at a local MP advice surgery. Apart from the fact he bad-mouthed the chancellor (always a plus) he also continued to hold advice surgery's after the fact, well aware it could happen again. (And continued to be candid.)

It'll be a shame to see him go but at least I got some well deserved schadenfreude when I saw Jacob Rees-Mogg on the chopping block as well. (Bristol East is going to Labour apparently!) Especially after his daughter and a substantial conservative war chest failed to ouse David Heath in the last electon.

Ooh, someone else on here hailing from Somerton & Frome? Didn't think I'd see the day. I lived in Frome until 2012 and I agree, David Heath has always been popular, among both the middle-aged and the politically-inclined teenagers I grew up with. It'll be a real shame if the seat goes blue. One factor that'll come in to play, perhaps even moreso than other areas, is UKIP: the rural areas of the constituency (Blackmoor Vale etc) seemed extremely UKIP-heavy in the EU elections, I saw dozens of UKIP posters and signs for every one Tory one, and the feeling I get is that the groundswell of support will transfer to the GE disproportionately more here.

I highly recommend highlander boots if you're going to be walking around a lot. I got my current pair years (5 I think) ago and they're still comfortable, waterproof and warm after wearing them everyday as well as walking up mountains, through snow, mud and that special kind of sharp granite that passes for footpaths in some parts of Scotland.

I still have my DMs from way back when they were still made in Britain. Best boots I've ever owned. At this point they fit me like a glove.

I used to know a bloke who made laces but he seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. A slight shame as I wanted to get some red, white, black and green ones.

As for Solovair they're pretty much the original docs. The new ones are made in the far east so the quality has suffered. Solovair operate out of the old DM factory and are made in the same way that the old DMs were. Other than the branding, they're pretty much the original and best. I have a friend who has some and he always praises them so when these ones finally bite the bullet I'll get some from there.
