For the missing file, I can't honestly tell you how it happened. As for the "the map is rough" part, this is an early preview. The announcement for it on Public Test stated that the map is rough around the edges and that there will be collision problems.

And while the planes aren't as customizable as mechs, there's 300+ planes and some of the weirdass WWII gimmick/improvisational warplanes own.  Let's take a civilian airliner, armor it, slap on all the .50 cal MGs we can fit, and then hang bazooka pods from the wings.

Who do you want to do the testing? The guys doing all the coding also have to keep the server runnings and do all the backend support while Paul & Co are busy doing coke and hookers.
