pik_d posted:What joke? Brundle caught him before the race and mentioned that Mercedes had said Hamilton and Rosberg had been told to accept that whoever was first into turn 1 was leading the race. Vettel replied that he'd have to try and pass them both by turn 1 and hope they accepted he was leading the race.

Wanted Seb to win that one, too bad about the RBR tires and Nico's car.

I'm not sure he helps his cause by doing poo poo like dragging the camera and a very uncomfortable looking Brundle into the red bull area to film Vettel though the window eating lunch tbh.

So so race, but the WDC implications should make Japan a good one.

I'm rather expecting Lewis to run away with it now, unless he retires again or something weird happens in Abu double.

Suzuka must be the biggest 'drivers track' left that Lewis hasn't won at (other than all the tracks too good for F1)

I think Mercedes was lucky to get away with that. The safety car strategy was questionable, especially with it lasting for as long as it did. Lucky for them Lewis was able to both turn in good laps and keep the tires going for a long rear end time.

Suzuka is going to be very interesting. All 4 top running cars should do well there, each in their own sectors. Mercs still have a massive advantage, but there are plenty of high speed turns and long straights for the others to catch up and battle for 2nd->8th. I do believe the Williams, Ferrari and McLarens should do reasonably well. Then again Suzuka always loving owns because it's one of the best F1 tracks around.

What a tedious race. I was watching live, which is a rarity with the wife and kids hanging about, and got bored halfway through and wandered off to do some DIY stuff. Then attempted to watch the rest of the race later on and fell asleep. Gave up, checked results online this morning. I was kinda hoping for a Lewis DNF but nope

Yeah Hamilton ran away with it at the start, but after the SC he had to put in some amazing laps to keep he position. Also, Jean-Eric Vergne giving the stewards a "gently caress You" in terms of race pace after they gave him that bullshit penalty.

I stand by what I said before having rewatched. It was a solid race, with a few good moments of drama in it and some nice overtakes. Not every race has to have rain or cars going upside down, if it did it would be American. anyway, I really came here to post this chap's martini bike FingersMaloy posted:I tried to put this up yesterday but imgur wasn't working for me.

It wasn't a thrilling start to finish race, though this time last year people in this thread would have been hailing it as fantastic. It's amazing how spoiled people get. Then again it's a predictable few doing the complaining. "Lewis won and I didn't want him to" == "Ugh race was boring did not watch".
