Aren't power locks/windows/steering/brakes pretty much the norm on any car built... Oh post 2000? Save the few stripped down economy models, the need to advertise that is pretty pointless. Maybe I'm generalizing to much but I haven't seen crank windows in a new car in ages.

You still see crank windows on plenty of base model Kias. You can still option the Chevy Sonic with them as well, at least for 2014.

I used to manage all of the online duties at the Subaru dealership I worked for, and part of that was writing the online ads. Sometimes it was hard to not write poo poo like, "This car has four wheels." I'm really good at writing classified ads, but terrible at writing the kind of ads that actually sell cars. Here's the ad from when I sold my Miata: quote:Dear Scooty Puff Jr., goatse guy fucked around with this message at 10:35 on Oct 17, 2014 |

Several years back I had an awful job as the detailer at a tiny used dealership. The (shitbrick) owner/salesman and the marketing guy left for a conference for a week, leaving me alone to my own devices. It would be my responsibility to re-up the craigslist ads as well as write ads for a dozen or so new cars in the inventory, so I did in between naps. It was so hard to come up with new ads that didn't sound exactly like the old ones, especially since these ads were in the 100-200 word range. If I had to come up with lame copy like that week after week I would

Thanks for calling, this is goatse guy, how can I help you? Do you still have the 2007 Mazda3? We do, would you like to set up an appointment to come in and test drive it? No, we're outside in the parking lot and we don't see it. Why do people call me from the parking lot instead of coming inside and asking questions? Are they really that socially awkward and afraid of salespeople?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but GG since you are in MSP and work at a dealership I figured you might have some opinions on vehicle delivery services? I live in Eau Claire. The used car market here is pretty awful, so Minneapolis has always been a resource for me for cars and motorcycles. I am currently looking for a project vehicle which would undoubtedly be nonrunning forcing me to ship or tow. I do not have vehicle capable of towing more than 1200 lbs. Are there any reasonably priced delivery services for shorter range (<100 miles)? I am not looking for a Barrett Jackson car, so it would not need to be showcar-level delivery. I was quoted $220 from one company, does this sound reasonable?

So is it normal for a dealer to take over a month to get your tags? I called to ask about them and the lady on the phone was so rude that it almost made me feel like I was the one out of line, she jumped all the way down my throat just for asking.

It's not normal, but have experienced it before. They owe you a new temporary tag at the least (if yours has expired).

We just purchased a 2010 Scion XD from O'Daniel Automart in Fort Wayne Indiana. Absolutely fantastic experience. The most low pressure purchase we've ever had. We requested a full buff and polish and the replacement of missing floormats and a jack. They cleaned the car up to looking nearly brand new (some minor rock chips remain). Amazing salesman who never pressured us at all, he kept saying how he was there to help us find the right car even if that meant buying elsewhere. I wish I was in the market for a new car as I'd buy one from him for how great he was. And the bad. Don Ayers Honda also in Fort Wayne can eat my rear end and I hope they burn to the ground. We stopped to look at various cars, a Mazda 2, a Versa, some Civics etc. I parked my Miata in their very clearly marked "Visitors Parking" area near the parts department and left my top down as we looked at cars. We took the M2 out and as we were returning it started to drizzle a bit. I wasn't too worried about the car as those who've followed my bullshit here know it's had water in it already. So we're looking at another car and I hear "Will the employee with the keys to the Miata please bring them to the sales department." I kind of chuckled and thought "somebody's getting fired because I left my top down." We hopped in a Versa (ugh) and as we drove back around the building I see two fat fucks in my car wrestling with the top. I jumped out and ran over and said "Wanna get out of my car?" They looked at me like I was retarded and one said "Did you put down a deposit yet?" So I opened my wallet, pulled out the smart key and set off the alarm. They got out of the car pretty quickly and one of them tossed something in the seat. It was the key knob that's used to start the car when the smart key is in your pocket. All the retaining tabs were broken off. I probably should have tried a calm approach but I lost my loving poo poo on the salesman helping us. The fact that my car was in a visitors spot and was loving plated meant nothing, "Just an honest mistake!" they chirped. I yelled a lot of profanity and demanded they replace the part. They refused. I said I would just take it to social media and contact Honda directly so one of the managers said he'd figure out something to satisfy me. But since we didn't buy a car from them they're acting like nothing was ever promised. What is interesting about both of these experiences is that locally, the O'Daniel name used to be known for having lovely, shady salesmen and Don Ayers is a well trusted name. I've talked to a lot of people around here and their experiences have been similar to my own.
