Significant spoilers for late-game portions of the VN routes!!! I'm pretty surprised they're showing Gilgamesh talking to Kirei so freely. I haven't finished F/Z yet but I assume their relationship is established there? I know they're catering a lot to the crowd coming into this from F/Z without having played the VN, but for me, Gilgamesh's big 'gently caress you I'm here to wreck everything' reveal was pretty nuts because you didn't expect an 8th Servant and it wasn't foreshadowed at all beforehand. So I guess I'm a little sad it isn't going to be such an abrupt 'oh god what' reveal the way it was in the VN. But on the other hand I guess his first proper introduction in UBW is also very different from Fate and assumes you already know who he is, so it's kind of appropriate. IDK

I'm really not minding a lot of the new stuff. Even that bath scene wasn't all that terrible. It certainly could have been worse, just look at Prisma Ilya.

Saber at school (they showed both the Kuzuki and Archery talks) and Rin scouting did happen (the fight scene wasn't shown but it was implied. Those scenes were definitely in UBW, but were modified.

The food porn was pretty awesome though  . Made me hungry again right after lunch.Also, the restore one of Berserker's lives every 3 days thing Ilya can do that Sella (or is it Leysrit, I always get the two mixed up) mentioned was mentioned in one of the Complete Materials books, right?

Well that first scene also had Sella and Leysritt in it, which makes me hopeful we'll see them supporting Ilya and Berserker in a battle somewhere. Sella's meant to be a better mage than Ilya and Leysritt's meant to be as strong as a Servant but we've never really seen them do stuff outside of Carnival Phantasm.

And Illya is a excellent magus with great prana backup. You're missing the forest for the trees. The trees that get raped an awful lot in the type moon universe.

You guys are becoming slightly desperate with your trolling attempts now. The new scenes I felt flowed pretty well for the most part, and they definitely fleshed out the characters a bit more for the people that are new to the universe. I really wish that they had addressed Shiro and Saber being too stupid to think of a better fake name for her than just... you know, her servant class. They could have just called her any "European" sounding name and it would make more sense to me. While we as readers/viewers know that most mages would be able to tell she's a servant at first glance, Shirou himself doesn't really know that.
