Rindt only ran 9 races, Ickx only actually scored 6 times, Regazzoni only ran 8/13 to finish 3rd even Danny Hulme in 4th missed 2 and the only other person you'd peg as a title contender Jackie Stewart managed to retire 8 times, including 3 in a row when Tyrrell introduced their first attempt at building a car.
