The Snowbirds have left the cold concrete dome in Tampa and the Steel Birds say hello to the grey smoke filled skies in Pittsburgh.  This is subject to change very soon. I threw together a bunch of position players pretty haphazardly after losing out on Jerry Sizemore and Tomas Montanez doesn't throw ground balls so he's a jerk who needs to leave.

oh my god I just noticed that left-handed Jorge Santos started all 162 games of S29 at 2B  He wasn't horrible, surprisingly -- 9 errors, 18 poor plays.

Serious question here, why did operaterp and i both get messages saying we were leading when it was clear that i actually was. Is there a built in preference for where an IFA decides to go? Is it pure chance?

And here are the s30 Colorado Burrellballers, with likely only minor changes early on in the season (like not carrying 2 defensive replacement shortstops) What is this? An actual good defense? How the hell did this happen (the answer has something to do with being unwilling to trade Kelly Gran without getting a long term 2b elsewhere). Also Cliff Burnett in Coors and I didn't have to max him   Uh let's hope that the good defense is worth something.

let's win a lot of regular season games and then lose when it matters  the only question is what i'm gonna do with the batting order, I kinda don't like having Don Cole leadoff, might put Duran there with his dwindling power, especially compared to the rest of the lineup

Gonna be a weird year.  Utilizing heavy platoons. In RF, Martin goes vs RHP and Pineda goes vs LHP. 3B, Holland vs LHP and Matsuzaka (old friend alert) vs RHP. Luke will get spelled hopefully only against LHP. I guess this is testing just how effective dudes with less-than-elite splits can be against their more favorable handedness and with good contact/power. Pitching depth is a problem but Deivi making 1/4 the starts again mitigates that a bit.
