I mean even in some hypothetical universe where mining bitcoins is supposedly a good idea, the hypothetical universe which bitcoiners believe they inhabit. if the cloud mining is profitable then why would the cloud mining company even be selling cloud mining instead of just mining all the bitcoins themselves.

infernal machines posted:why did bfl sell buttminers? Because they had to sell something after taking in all that money.. The funniest part is, they let people pre-order cloud mining. pre. order. cloud. mining. And rather than waiting for refunds, people are waiting for their cloud mining to come online. Their pre-ordered cloud mining. pre-ordered. cloud mining.

it was rhetorical, they did it because idiots will pay for a product/service that makes no financial sense for the company to provide (if it performed as they imply it would). there's no case where purchasing a miner or "cloud mining" service will provide a better ROI then just buying butts directly off an exchange, but no one purchasing this poo poo has bothered to work that out.

Here is why companies like MasterCard lobby against made up fictional fantasy magic unicorn internet money that is comprised of nothing more than poorly organized entries in a global peer-to-peer cryptographically secure database (self.Bitcoin) submitted 6 hours ago * by jratcliff63367 Bitcoin is tiny. Bitcoin is so small that its daily transaction volume could be excused as round off error at most major banks. Bitcoin is so tiny, it is so obscure, it is so volatile, and it is so irrelevant, that not only should MasterCard not be worried about it, neither should payday loans companies either. It is a fact that bitcoin is obscure, difficult, volatile and tiny. Given these facts, you have to wonder why companies like MasterCard, as well as major world governments, attack it with such ferocity? Let me tell you why. Because when the human population recognizes that what unit of currency they choose to invest with value is both arbitrary and based entirely on their own personal belief, then it can change in instant. Many people, most people in fact, who have led their lives being hypnotized by money, are completely bamboozled to believe that only governments can create currency and give it value. However, occasionally, when a government currency collapses before our very eyes the veil is lifted for a moment and we realize that governments don't give a currency value, we do. The reason governments and banks are frightened of bitcoin, even though it is very tiny, is because some of them know that the whole thing is a house of cards that can collapse in a moment. Think about it for a second. How come when someone hands you a sheet of paper with the #100 printed on it you will give them a 100 times more stuff then if they give you the same sheet of paper but with ink printing #1 instead? The answer is within. It is because of what you personally believe. Have you ever had someone refuse to accept a $100 bill, and remember how angry that made you because you knew, in your heart, that 'it was money too'? You couldn't enforce your will on that merchant and neither could the government. As soon as that person decided your $100 bill wasn't 'money' then it wasn't any more and it reverted back to being a sheet of paper with ink on it. All money derives its strength based purely on a shared belief within a community. If you don't believe this to be true then I have a one trillion dollar bill I want to sell you... The reason huge corporations and governments are afraid of bitcoin, even though it is tiny and inconsequential, is simply because they recognize that at any point, at any time, through sheer belief alone, the hypnotized people of the world can wake up and, with a snap of our fingers, use something else.

yospos, i have a question: if buttcoin (LMAO!) is so stupid, then pls explain this: "Microsoft has added Bitcoin support to Microsoft accounts. Bitcoin funds can be added to accounts to enable digital purchases from the Windows, Windows Phone, Xbox Games, Xbox Music, and Xbox Video stores. Bitcoin support is currently limited to adding fixed dollar amounts to accounts; there's no direct purchase option. Up to $100 can be added at a time, and presently the option is only available to US accounts. The Bitcoin support comes via BitPay. Other early commercial Bitcoin supporters, including PayPal and Newegg, also use BitPay." http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2014/12/xbox-windows-store-now-accepting-bitcoin-payments/ protip: u cant. lol

It needs people wanting to be associated with it because it gives them status, makes them look smart, and has sex apeal. But right now the image is that of a libertarian amway party held in a manchilds basement that smells like farts. Sexy indeed. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply
