For a bout between two ranked fighters, the higher ranked fighter receives first selection; the lower-ranked fighter is required to pick a contrasting color. Unranked fighters will work with matchmakers to select a color. This is fantastic. Stupid haircuts and tattoos are going to be the only way to differentiate between fighters now. The UFC's reaction to an increasingly tepid fanbase is to make the sport as homogenized and corporate as possible. The section on uniforms at weigh-ins and practices reminds me of equipment issue in boot camp. It's like Dana's been listening to Jones's cocaine-fueled monologues about Brands. Wasn't an early report that only 20% of Reebok's money is going to trickle down to the fighters? At least all this outside sponsorship money will go to fighters in other organizations. VV I thought they were already required to bring an alternate color of shorts to fights? I think it's great that press conferences are going to look like benetton/gap ads now. red19fire fucked around with this message at 04:29 on Jan 15, 2015 |

Actually it isn't because I'll never see someone in bad boy booty shorts again and it'll just be endless people in tough enough final card gym shorts.

It's extremely different than other sports because you see the fighters in the UFC aren't employees who you can give uniforms to and take from them but in fact are independent contractors.

Embedded is really great and they should do them for every card they can, PPV or not. Dana's VLOGs were good too, I'd like to watch both but Embedded is better and it's cool to be able send a link to a casual fan who will then understand that a German man is excited to see his face on garbage cans throughout the greater Boston area.

Well the first few of the Embedded series seemed to split evenly between the main event, co-main and Dana. However, for the last few events it looks like he's taken a step out of the spotlight. I can only imagine this is an intentional decision, I just wonder what the reasoning is. Personally, I find the organisational aspects just as interesting as the fighter prep.

Siver progressively discovering and exploring the concept of comedic insults in human language is the best part of this series "We can stick Conor McGregor right in that trash can after that fight" "Yeah, because McGregor belongs in there." "A few days ago I did say something bad about him because his insults made me angry. [...] I got angry and told a newspaper Conor McGregor can kiss my rear end"
