If P is "popped positive for a drug banned out-of-competition during out of competition testing" and Q is "Popped positive for a drug banned in-competition during in-competition testing", and cocaine isn't banned out of competition, then unless R includes specific clauses about drugs of abuse Jones could and like would have won a very expensive lawsuit. I don't doubt he's telling the truth about getting sued, I'm just saying if that's your big concern than obviously the guy isn't in the midst of a crippling addiction that's harming his life. I'd just rather they not try to push this whole Jones-as-victim/addiction angle when it's really clear that no ones taking it that seriously until someone asks a tough question. I really wonder if this would be AS big of a deal if he didn't do that stupid sleepover and they just fined him via the code of conduct.

It's not worth arguing over because we're never going to know what is in a UFC contract, but if they don't have fighter conduct language in their contracts that could cover fighters testing positive for illegal drugs then lol they are stupid. I am much more inclined to believe that the UFC chose not to pursue any options to terminate Jones' contract because would you rather have the moral high ground or a big ol' pile of money? I am also not a lawyer so there is always that.

If it's medical grade and you don't OD, there are very few side effects. Yeah, there must be a morality clause in the fight contract that covers acceptable reasons to cancel a fight, and I'd imagine testing positive for illegal drugs would be in there or some kind of catch-all for conduct unbecoming. I think the heart of the matter is that Dana didn't want to kill the biggest PPV in recent memory which had already been delayed once. We do know what's in fighter contracts, though Hint: comically unfair to the fighter.

The UFC could have invoked Article 8 if they wanted to call off the Jones fight. Dana's just talking again.quote:Fighter shall conduct himself in accordance with commonly accepted standards of decency, social conventions and morals, and Fighter will not commit any act or become involved in any situation or occurrence or make any statement which will reflect negatively upon or bring disrepute, contempt, scandal, ridicule, or disdain to Fighter, the Identity of Fighter or any of Fighter's Affiliates, ZUFFA or any of its officers, managers, members, employees, or agents. Fighter's conduct shall not be such as to shock, insult or offend the public or any organized group therein, or reflect unfavorably upon any current or proposed, arena, site hotel, sponsor or such sponsor's advertising agency, or any network or station over which a Bout is to be broadcast.

I really like McGregor but since he is the chosen one the UFC are trying to build a brand around I can't help dream for a boring, demoralising loss to Siva because it'd be the funniest and most German outcome. Also gently caress the UFC for putting a card on at 3am on a Monday morning UK time.

The other man replies: 'Yes, she has become a prostitute to subsidise her drug habit.' Two cows are in a field. Suddenly, from behind a bush, a rabbit leaps out and runs away.
