So the world ended in nuclear fire. When was this? What happened? Who fired the first shots? What about the people who survived, scraping a life from the dusty, winter wreckage of the civilisations lost to time? I can answer that last one for you. THEY'RE WATCHING THURSDAY FIGHT NIGHT MOTHERFUCKERRRRRS Hellllloooooo, everyone! It's your favourite host, Lazarus Chau, coming to you live from the Pepla Arena in New Manhattan for this week's Thursday Fight Night! Turns out it's not tax evasion if they can hit you with a wrench Haha, man, some strange customs down in Mexico nowadays. Well, whilst my ribs are healing, reminder that this match is sponsored by Pepla - Winning Cola Wars, and real wars, since 2054! Get a complimentary can of the only cola in town from our vendors whilst you can, folks in the stands! And man, we've got a great night coming up tonight! We've got the Downtown Dragouts and the up-and-coming Twelve Horsemen competing for a spot in the semi-finals of the Thursday Fight Night Summer Championship! Three rounds of run and gun fun for all the family! We've got two - that's right, TWO rounds of Dronemaggedon coming up, brought to you by Grandma Selby's Shotguns for Seniors - the official weapon suppliers for TFN's robots! If a robot can use it, so can your grandma! And on top of that, we've got Busty Servo and the Rockettes performing live on stage for us exclusively tonight! Oh, and don't forget the population control lottery at the end! Hold onto those ticket stubs, folks. Reminder of the rules to everyone at home - no guns for audience members during the matches, no bringing in food from outside the arena, and no videotaping! Take a moment to remember the cautionary tale of the Wilkins Family, napalmed in their home because they tried to tape a match. Sad stuff. We'll go right to GG Rich and TY Tony for a match analysis, but first, a word from our sponsors! Stay tuned, fans! --- Thursday Fight Night is a Fate Accelerated game. I'm looking for 4-5 players with a deadline of February the 1st. Setting Take the NFL, set it in a nuclear-devastated future, and make it a bloodsport. Thursday Fight Night is the ONLY sport to tune into on a Thursday night, and corporations around the world pour money into competing teams of soldiers, robots, clones and mutants to try and win the coveted TFN CHampionship Cup. Everything is sponsored, cheating is expected, and your life outside of the game is probably awful unless you're one of the "athletes" or the rich 0.1%, but hey, who cares? For a more specific idea of what to expect, think Monday Night Combat. If you haven't played that, watch some wrestling and add guns. Characters Characters use default character creation - 3-5 aspects, 3 refresh, 3 free stunts, the good stuff. Your character can be as gimmicky or weird as you like, because, again, wrestling with guns.Just make what you want and put a post-apoc/cyberpunk veneer on it. Mentioning of the downtrodden masses is optional. One of your Aspects should be about, or relate to, your Sponsor, the Megacorps who poured all of their funds and PR into you. You wear their products, advertise them when you can, and in return you get big bucks, the thrill of combat and probably a bunch of groupies! Additionally, here's a fun house rule - once per scene, if you take a moment to advertise your sponsor instead of doing anything at all productive, I'll give you a Fate Point. It's like a self-compel, basically. See you folks on the field! The Deleter fucked around with this message at 07:34 on Jan 26, 2015 |

WIP Malcolme Reginald de Winter, CEO of Trans-Formatics Enterprises Malcolme Reginald de Winter, Mal to his friends (you're not one of them), is the twenty-seventh CEO of the military juggernaut Trans-Formatics. He was enjoying the high life, throwing extravagent parties on his turbo-yacht, hosting week-long 'The Most Dangerous Game' hunting parties (because what else do you do in a nuclear wasteland?), and entertaining expensive escorts in the VIP-only sections of entire cities. Then, the unthinkable happened: He got bored. So what's the X-tenth richest man in the world to do? Surely, he wouldn't find solace by watching some absolute garbage fighting show for idiots, trailer trash, and, the worst of all, the middle class, would he? No, of course not. He'll build a powerhouse of a mech suit, filled with weapons and functions galore, and participate in some absolute garbage fighting show for idiots, trailer trash, and the middle class. High Concept: Combat-Ready CEO Trouble: The Ultimate Heel Sponsor: Trans-Formatics - A Brighter Future, a Safer World Additional: Trillion-Dollar Death Machine Approaches: +3: Clever +2: Forceful, Flashy +1: Careful, Quick +0: Sneaky Stunts: Because I am So Goddamned Rich, I get +2 whenever I Cleverly create an advantage by throwing a lot of loving money at the problem. Because I Have Excellent Foresight, I can spend a Fate Point to declare that my suit has exactly the right function or weapon for the situation. Because my suit is Made of Unobtanium, I get +2 whenever I Forcefully Overcome something. Kumaton fucked around with this message at 03:02 on Jan 27, 2015 |

I'm down for this! Mortimer REDACTED AKA Mr. Finch Alcatraz Incorporated from it's very foundation has built it's bedrock of long term incarceration and short term punishment for petty crimes on the basis of that no matter what they do, or who they do it to, they do it because there are some really bad people out there and they have to protect you from them. Take Mortimer for example. Mortimer was the youngest in a family of what was eloquently described as "Mutant Psychos for Hire", who ran a small business of assassination and other criminal misdemeanor in the slums. What they lacked in finesse, they made up for with unmitigated brutality and just generally being a bunch of scary motherfuckers that made it so no one for the longest time wanted to do anything about them. And it was a huge sigh of relief for everyone when Alcatraz eventually put them down, except for Mortimer. At the time he was just a baby, and it was assumed that if he was raised in normal household that he wouldn't grow up like his parents did. But as it turns out when you do experimental and borderline illegal mutagenics and combat drugs through your pregnancy, it does troubling things to the child that results from it, to say Mortimer was a troubled child would be to put it lightly. After losing his adopted parents in a 'tragic accident' for the 3rd time, they took the measure of incarcerating him permanently. The only real issue was, they had some problems keeping him there, he would be in his cell one minute, and the next he wouldn't be and they could never figure out how he did it. He was incredibly dangerous to keep around, but they couldn't just bump him off like they did in the old days as they couldn't actually prove he did anything wrong. Nor could they just quietly pay someone to kill him, the last few times that happened the assassins to be went missing, and they had only found half the pieces to this day. So they decided to take the third option. Enter him into a national televised blood-sport and hope for the best (or the worst). And Mortimer couldn't be happier with the arrangement. High Concept: Maximum-Security Mutant Malefactor Trouble: Hair Trigger Psychopath Sponsor: Alcatraz Incorporated - Incarceration, for the Nation! Additional: A Thin Veneer of Affability Additional: Slippery like an Eel Approaches: +3: Sneaky +2: Quick, Clever +1: Careful, Flashy +0: Forceful Stunts: Because I have a 'Nuts About Knives' Subscription, I get a +2 to Sneakily Attack when I am wielding or throwing knives. Because I can see The Spaces between Spaces, for one fate point, I can move myself to anywhere within eye-shot, as long as no one is watching me. Because I am Unnaturally Fast I get a +2 to Quickly Overcome attempts to capture or impede my movement. TheNabster fucked around with this message at 21:13 on Jan 26, 2015 |

Sure, this seems neat! Rex "[INSERT NICKNAME HERE]" Stuart Rex Stuart is a giant of a man, but most of him is, well, not flesh anymore. He no longer has his old arms and legs, having lost them long ago. It's cool tho, his new interchangeable limbs are excellent. Anybody looking at his (massive) chest and his head would find them rigged with access ports of all sorts. He has to wear shades all the time, for his eyes had to be replaced as well long ago. He takes it all in stride, really. Rex is a remarkably chill dude. He seems to have come to terms with his job a long time ago. What is his job? Why, to put up a show, and to make others look good. A long time ago, those sponsoring him decided that, well, Rex didn't really have the… PRESENCE to stand out as a babyface or a heel, somebody to love or to hate. He wasn't… intense enough. But what is a good bloodsport without a good loser? Thus was born Rex Stuart, the eternal jobber. He never uses his name, though. He has had something like a hundred different nicknames: The Demolisher, the Death Machine, The Beast, etc. Intimidating names fit for a man that "dies" every so often. Then, he is fitted with new gear and the show starts again. Undine Contractors have been his sponsors for his last couple of years. A small company, they nonetheless get to show off neat gadgets with Rex, -and- they get to make deals with larger companies so that they can use their professional loser to make them go over well. Rex still dreams of glory form time to time. The money he is paid for losing stems it a bit. High Concept: Jobber 4 Life Trouble: Contracted to Lose Sponsor: Undine Contractors: For Every Problem, A Solution Additional: Man of a Thousand Faces Additional: Veteran of the Field Approaches: +3: Flashy +2: Clever, Careful +1: Quick, Forceful +0: Sneaky Stunts: Because I Have been At This Business For A Long Time, I get a +2 to Flashily create an Advantage by impressing the crowd Because I Know How To Lose Without Being Hurt, once per game session I can put myself out of danger and make it look awesome. Because Anybody who is Anybody In the Business Knows Me, I get a +2 to Cleverly overcome troublesome social situations involving my job.

DEAD CASTLE Man, what the hell is Dead Castle? All it does is murder things. I mean, I guess it's a good thing that Thursday Fight Night is a thing, or else it would be out on the streets, or what's left of them, with us, or what's left of us. I guess? I don't know? Like, when it drilled a hole in the Chrome Macaw's power armour, poured kerosene into it and then turned him into barbecue, sure, that was pretty neat. I know I got some ribs on the way home, and I don't think I was the only one. Or when it chased the DeSanto Twins through the stands with that hedge-trimmer, that was pretty great too. Made me glad I was in the nosebleeds at least. But it's just so drat weird. All in black, with those glowing eyes. Speaking in poetry. It's like some kind of weird murder-ghost. More to the point though, who thought that it would be a good representative for an internet dating company? High Concept: Weird Murder-Ghost Trouble: Not a People Person, Maybe Not a Person at All? Sponsor: KissNTell: The Future of Makeouts! Additional: MacGuyver of Messy Murder Additional: A Wide Array of Horrible Implements +3 Forceful +2 Flashy and Quick +1 Careful and Sneaky +0 Clever Because it Flickers Like a Nightmare, DEAD CASTLE gets +2 to Quickly Defend against ranged attacks. Because Fear is For Living Humans, DEAD CASTLE gets +2 to Forcefully Attack targets larger than itself. Because it Is a Horrifying Abomination in the Eyes of Man and God, DEAD CASTLE can inflict a mild consequence of "poo poo-Scared" when a fate point is paid. May I call you Turbo? Tell us about your name. It's means something in Mexican, right? [laughter] Turbo Picante: Ah, well, I needed a name after I survived the first fight. The announcer called me "hot and quick" and it stuck. Turbo Picante - Super Spicy. Dave Malarkey: Just like my ex-wife! [laughter, applause] Dave Malarkey: So tell us Turbo, how did you get your fantastic speed and strength? Turbo Picante: My friends, there is not much to tell. I had spent years as a technician in a famous drug baron's labs. Yes, that baron. One day, we were attacked by a rival cartel. Instead of being gutted like a fish, I brewed up a cocktail of all the greats: Psycho, slasher, spazz, the works. This made me strong, quick, and tough. Miraculously I lived that day, survived the cocktail , and swore to use my newfound powers for truth and justice. [laughter, applause] Dave Malarkey: Truth and Justice? Those chems must have knocked a screw loose! *winks at the camera* Well, thanks for coming in today Turbo. Try not to OD! Turbo Picante: Thank you Dave. Dave Malarkey: And remember folks, when you need a fix and you don't care where it comes from, use EZStab! EZStab's pills, punctures, powders, and poulticies are 100% proven to be the least harmful vendo-chems around.
