I wanted to watch some let's plays of old PSX era JRPGs and it was all dudes reciting the dialogue in dumb voices, which is stupid why would I want that, talk about interesting aspects of the game or something, Jesus.

Good thing I never invested into the antiquated e-shop/nintendo account bullshit or I might have had to wait the two weeks for the double migration I needed.

Ok guys, I'm tossing up between buying Project X Zone and Shin Megami Tensei IV next week. Both are about 25-26 bucks so they're about the same in price but what is the general consensus for which is better?

My curret 3ds is kind of busted, and missing the barcode number on the bottom so I can't sell it (at least to a gamestop/pawnshop, I think) so if it's true that it needs to be hard modded, that might be worth looking into. I'm assuming there's more info on this in the LP section, right?

You can pretty regularly find both games for under that price (if you're talking USD) but SMT4 is the one to get.

From what I hear Project X Zone's combat turns into an insane slog once you reach a certain point of the game, plus the writing's mediocre fanfiction quality at best.

Pretty sure you command more units in Project X Zone than there are demons in SMTIV. Play SMTIV.

SMT doesn't give you the chance to command Frank West and Bruce Willis into battle. Your choice is clear.

Do you guys have one solid favorite 3DS game? A game you could easily sell to people, I mean. I don't mean like Animal Crossing (I love the game, don't get me wrong) since the game is very clearly not for everyone and can be quickly checked off as slow.

I don't really like 3D Land or Canvas Curse. Never played Triple Deluxe though, but it looks closer to an older style Kirby game so I have a feeling I'd enjoy it.

Ivy posted:I played through most of 3D World (gently caress Champion's Road). How does 3D land compare to it? There's 8 worlds that are standard difficulty, then 8 additional worlds of remixed levels that are somewhat hard. They aren't impossible, but they aren't easy. To be honest though, 3D Land has nowhere near the level of creativity found in World for the obvious reasons. 3D Land seems cool because it's a 3D Mario game.

Majora's Mask is coming in two weeks, and most people are probably looking to play or replay Ocarina of Time before then. Ocarina of Time's actually my standing recommendation as THE 3DS game to drop on someone. Even if they're not great at it playing it, it gives a nice big open world to gently caress around in and admire the 3D effect.
