Scariest part about Todd for me is that he felt believable. Every other bad guy in the series was a bit cartoonish but this guy was a legit sociopath.

Tuco might seem cartoonish, but the actor based the character on a lot of gang activity he apparently saw firsthand as a kid in LA including a dude on a PCP frenzy.

Yeah I think Tuco only seems cartoonish if you haven't had the misfortune of dealing with people like him in real life.

The terrifying thing is how he seems able to hold himself back, but chooses not to.

I'd say the color cues were definitely a conscious decision since they're essentially used the same way across all forms of visual media. Blue is trust, honor, tranquility, etc. and red is danger, anger, power, etc. But listening to the podcast, it sounds like they were such having a hellish time during that entire scene that they wanted to murder the sun. I don't they gave a gently caress about the symbolism of the shadows.

They are hilarious and I hope they become a thorn in Sauls ethical side for the rest of the season. No way is this done and finished with them getting broken legs.

They are kind of funny in how clueless and awful they are, but I would also be completely fine if we never see them again. Not because I hate them so much that I don't ever want to see them or anything, I just don't think the show necessarily needs to turn every character into a season-long arc. That said, a two episode opener is really hard to judge long-term story arc stuff with so we'll see. Top Hats Monthly posted:I'm aware of it. I think the courtesy is that if it's aired, you don't have to spoil it in the thread, except for stuff you saw in the "next week's preview," because a lot of people don't like to watch that.

I don't think we need to spoiler a show people have presumably already watched Also the thing that bugs me about the skater dudes is they look 28 and their characters act 16

What kind of lovely lawyer doesn't defend their clients, what kind of person thinks service work is a good time, and what kind of idiot thinks the former is supposed to reflect on the latter?
|
# ? Feb 13, 2015 02:14 |
|
It's not even about the service work in the first place. His life would have been in been black and white as long as he lived it as anyone but Saul: he misses his fast-paced life as a lawyer for criminals and there is no substitute. What a lovely review. Don't read comments sections.
|
# ? Feb 13, 2015 02:19 |
|
And in in the B&W scene, Saul isn't even reminiscing about doing PD work for headfuckers, he's reminiscing about when he was in his prime and making Cadillac money and winning cases.
|
# ? Feb 13, 2015 02:20 |
|
The funny thing about that review is that it claims that it devalues working class experiences by treating cinnabon work as below Saul, while at the same time lamenting the disappearance of shows like married with children. Not to mention that the idea that being respectful to the working class entails blowing smoke up their rear end about the job is ridiculous.

lol @ the social responsibility of television to adequately portray the lower middle class
|
# ? Feb 13, 2015 02:47 |
If there's one thing the working class really loves to watch on TV it's shows respectfully and realistically depicting their bullshit lives. I'm pretty sure everyone who works in food service who watched that scene went "yup that's about right gently caress this gay earth and everyone on it" not "I wish this television show idealized my lovely life and the virtue of poverty more" hailthefish fucked around with this message at 03:14 on Feb 13, 2015 |
