Stare-Out posted:Was it good, really? I saw a bit of it a while ago while wondering what Whitehouse was up to these days and it looked a bit weak. Whitehouse is genuinely one of my favorite actors of all time thanks solely to The Fast Show and it's just seemed to me that he hasn't had much luck lately getting the right project and the Eddie Murphy-esque makeup/fatsuit stuff didn't seem to be quite that. I really enjoyed it. His addiction to prosthetics is a bit tiresome but the writing's good enough that the joke isn't solely that there's a fat guy on the screen. It really is a successor to the Langham thing, another comedy about mental health, and it maintains that light touch needed to jokes about that without it being distasteful.

They should replace Hammond and Clarkson with slightly younger people and keep James May imo, and they should debut the new cast with a special.

I don't agree, I think its the format, and whilst he is behind the format there's nothing stopping the bbc from bringing in new people and retaining/aping the format, though it will be very difficult to find three people with equivalently entertaining chemistry

The top gear specials are massively scripted and wouldnt work without Clarkson

Yeah they're massively scripted. Someone else could script them.

good things to watch on iPlayer at the moment are these two things, both This World programmes about guns and Americans. Surviving Sandy Hook. Incredibly sad film of three families involved, including a young boy who survived. It's hard to watch. Secrets of the Mexican Drug War. Insane tale of how Mexican drug cartels got all their guns.

Jesus, Lenny Henry looks good on Comic Relief. If it wasn't for some flecks of grey in his beard he could pass for being in his late twenties.

Like an toddler who's been fed blue Smarties (the good old-fashioned hyperactive kind with the banned food-colouring in them) Best paired with a presenter who hasn't met her before and is visibly overwhelmed by her perpetual enthusiasm. It's good fun when they start trembling every time she squeals joyfully in their ear.

Dude in the ad is the same guy who did Nelson the Fox in Mongrels, if I'm not mistaken. That's his real Announcer Voice -- sounds like Berry, but then Rufus Jones does when he plays that sort of character.

ITV has sunk to a whole new low. Good Lord. They even managed to employee a hypnotist who looks like a date rapist, however I guess it would've been hard to find one who didn't. Still, it does prove that I can hypnotized into wanting to end it all.
